“Good food good service ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 1, 2013 via mobile

We liked the restaurant and the nice staff over there.
I enjoyed my food although it was a bit too oily for my taste.
It's a dark place so bring a flashlight. :-)
Maybe too dark but we could see our dinner.

“Delicious Italian”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 27, 2013

This Italian restaurant felt very intimate. The food was wonderful and the service could not be better. We were a huge group of 20 and they were very efficient getting us seated, fed, and served with many different orders all of which were delicious.

“Calamari to Die For”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

We had a tough time getting a reservation here, since apparently no one answers the phone until late afternoon. We had to settle for a 5:00 seating which is a bit early even for this old feller. But then came the appetizer -- fresh squid, lightly poached and gently marinated in oil, lemon, and herbs. I've been a calamari fan for decades, but I've never tasted squid like this. Superb! -- and a large portion, to boot. The entree, veal marsala was on the tough side, but the sauce was spot on. The pasta was several steps up from Prince and Mueller, and the red sauce was simple but delightful. The wine list was a fun read -- no old standards here -- and our glasses of modestly priced reds and whites were excellent. Sometimes it's hard to find good food at a reasonable price in a tourist town, but this well-run place is the exception.

“Good pasta & lively atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2013 via mobile

Several miles down mountain rd. & placed in an old farmhouse or barn. Inviting interior but faux italianesque red tablecloths & gingham curtains b /t tables. Friendly service & tasty martini that went down very easily. Unique app on special I couldn't resist, w/ towered fried eggplant slices layered b/ t mozzarella & tomato. Great idea & prettily plated, but it came to my table too cool for the eggplant to attain a desired texture or the cheese to melt. Pasta entree was fettuccine carbonara, indeed a generous portion, rich & filling, but nothing which surpassed my own past efforts at the dish many times before. But would still rec for the hungry, pasta-craving skier or traveler.

“"Favorite Restaurant in the world"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2013

The Massachusetts couple eating at the bar next to me enthusiastically commented "It's our favorite restaurant in the world!"
One can understand why- without doubt , when my Caesar salad arrived, it was the best I've ever enjoyed( anywhere!) the conversation between effusive Tony behind the bar covered a wide range of gastronomic topics with our enthusiastic patrons- about restaurants in Southern Sicily and Sicilian contributions to Merlot. Please do yourself a favor: make reservations prior to going-it's appropriately popular and getting a nice seat will be incumbent on having called in advance. You'll be glad you did! -fabulous cuisine, great wines, knowledgable staff and great atmosphere!!
