My husband and I had a wonderful stay here. Tom is a wonderful host, and he makes the most delicious breakfasts! The Great Room is relaxing and beautifully decorated. We loved the fireplace. We loved the homemade cookies in the afternoon. It is a fantastic value, and the best value that I know of in the Stowe area.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms are very small. It didn't matter to my husband or me, as we were either out si...

A tranquil haven overlooking the mountains. Upon arrival, one is greeted by homemade cookies, wonderful tea selection, and Tom's warm hospitality. The lounge room is basked in light and oozing with books. Gentle music is joined by birds dancing on the balcony. The room (which Tom generously upgraded us to) has its own views and is sparkling clean. Abundant local tips on are hand.

After a peaceful night of rest, one awakens to the best scones ever, amongst other breakfast delights made from local ingredients. Tom gives expert advice on local trails to visit. The Trapp Family Lodge is just up the road (for the "Sound of Music" enthusiast who would like to pop in for an ogle), and Ben & Jerry's home factory is a short drive away.

Finally, when leaving, the gregarious Sophie (blonde golden retriever) comes for a nuzzle and reluctantly places her paw on your lap for a farewell.

Guest rooms are comfortable and hospitality fantastic. We enjoyed great breakfast, tea and cookies after skiing and a cozy evening by the fire reading. Next time we're in Stowe, the Timberholm is our first choice for lodging.

We chose Timberholm for our skiing accommodation as we had read previous reviews. We were really pleased with our choice, attractive building and beautiful grounds, lovely comfy and warm bedroom, bathroom with plenty of hot water, hot tub and absolutely delicious breakfasts! We were made very welcome by Tom, Susan and the other guests.

So, despite Nemo making our journey longer and more difficult, a great week.who all helped with our car hire issues...

We were glad Winter Storm Nemo didn't keep you from us and a great ski holiday. We're glad you enjoy the Timberholm as much as we do and thank you for your kind words.

Cheers!

We went twice in the course of less than two weeks and both times our stay was phenomenal! We couldn't imagine a more authentic Vermont experience than staying in this very cozy bed and breakfast. Tom and Suzy were great. The breakfasts were delicious and the atmosphere was very warm and inviting.

I like how they had a ton of dinnerware available (even wine glasses) since we like bringing a lot of our own food and drink and you just leave it in a bin when your done. Saved us a ton of money.

We found it very flattering that you would decide to come back so soon. It didn't hurt that we had one of the best ski seasons since we've been here in Stowe. Hope you'll consider visiting us during another season. They are all good in Vermont!

We were thoroughly impressed with the Timberholm Inn. My husband and I stayed there for a weekend ski trip. When we arrived, the owner Tom upgraded our room to a bigger one for free (we had booked one of the smallest rooms) and also had delicious cookies, brownies, and an assortment of hot drinks (coffee, Vermont teas, hot chocolate) waiting for us. The entire inn, including our room was cozy, rustic, and extremely clean. We really enjoyed the inn's Great Room with fireplace and comfy chairs and couches, lots of board games, book collection, etc. There was also a neat recreation room downstairs with shuffleboard, chess, and a large screen TV with a DVD collection. We felt so at home! And, the highlight of our stay (besides the skiing, of course) had to be the delicious breakfasts! Each day we were served some sort of fruit dish, a hot homemade baked item and a main course. My favorites were the oatmeal pancakes, blueberry scones, and cinnamon French toast.

The inn itself is in a great location - some of the best restaurants in Stowe are less than 5 minutes drive away. Stowe ski resort is less than 10 minutes away.

I hope we have the opportunity to ski in Stowe again and stay at the Timberholm! Highly recommended! It was a great experience and a fantastic value.
