This was a very warm and wonderful place.
We were treated as if we were family coming to stay for the weekend. the owners were so hospitable helping us with where to go ,where to eat ,as well as places to go with our dog.
They made our breakfast with home made oatmeal and cakes that were outstanding.
They are extremely friendly people and know how to make you feel welcome!
Thank you for a wonderful getaway!

Stayed w/ family of 3, long weekend of 2/27/13-3/3/13, Room #20, main bldg. King Suite with separate bedroom, Kitchenette, dining table, pull-out couch, gas fireplace and balcony. Large and functional. Continental Breakfast served 8am-9.30am in bar area. Restaurant open Thurs-Sat. night. Hot tub on site and WiFi. Here's the part I don't like writing because the Mother/Daughter owner team was very nice, and I wish them success. Upon entry into #20 torn vestibule carpet and a musty odor. The scented candle never made it better. The room while large, wasn't inviting. The pull-out was so hard that the last night I didn't bother and just used the couch. We choose the separate bedroom layout so that if someone wanted to stay up late, they wouldn't bother people in the bedroom. Unfortunately, the fireplace is the primary source of heat, and the bedroom doors had to be left open. The drab green carpet and sheet vinyl, along with the lack of decoration made for a very uninviting space. The hot tub was next to the parking lot and not private. Another reviewer complained about the breakfast. Toast, muffins, mixed fruit, (2) cereals, yogurt and juice. It did get old after a couple of days. There is really no public area to hang out. I was hoping after a long day of skiing to sit by a fire w/ a toddy. The bar is only open Thurs-Sat. and seems to be almost an after thought. We did have a drink at the bar prior to dinner. I felt bad because it seemed we were taking away a server from her duties at dinner. Dinner was good, but not great. The dining room is very nice, the nicest on the property, and has a wood burning fire place. To some it up, I can forgive a room for being a little tired if the property has great public areas, aka the Inn at Long Trail in Killington, last years trip. As a leisure traveler, I wish I had looked harder and maybe spent some more money. If your looking for a place to crash while you ski and get a great deal, by all means it works. If your looking for more ambiance, a game room, a welcoming fire or bar to rest and mingle with other travelers, look elsewhere. Sorry, but I don't recommend unless it is a short stay and you get a great deal.

Room Tip: O'Grady's Pub had one of the best meals we had. Better than the Inn's. Lots of restauran...

What pleasure to find the real thing in our age of commercial hype for substitutes! Even without its fine kitchen and lovely dining room, this old inn with all necessary modern conveniences would be a find for its genuine coziness. Cliché or not, one feels at home there.

We spent a week at Hob Knob Inn for presidents week. The end rooms with a king bed, pull out couch, gas fire place, and small kitchen area was great. We have been coming to this inn for the past few years. The rooms are clean and the family that runs the Inn are great. If you looking for an Inn near the moutain at a reasonable price that have large rooms and a very comfortable this is the place for you.

This motel was the first hotel in Stowe. While the owners have tried to upgrade the site, it is showing its age. The worst part about the site is the exit onto Route #108. It is a blind curve, and while the posted speed limit is 30 MPH, most traffic is going 40-50 mph in order for the skiers to get to the mountain. If you do stay at this motel, get a room with a fireplace...nice touch. Oh yes, the motel does not offer a third night discount even though we presented a copy of their web site...oh well

Room Tip: See above.

Myself and two of my adult children stayed here when we skied Stowe. From the minute we checked in, we felt at home. Quiet, comfortable and clean - we settled into our room just minutes from the slopes. The staff is professional, warm and laid back - exactly what one expects from an Inn. We have decided that when we return to Stowe - we will always stay with Barbara and her family at the Hob Knob.

My wife, her parents, and I stayed in room 17 (king size bed, pull out couch, mini-kitchen) in the 2012-2013 winter. The Hob Knob Inn is laid out like a typical motel--three two-story buildings with rooms laid out in a strip. We were very pleased with the room. The room was immaculate, the bed and pull out couch were very nice. The knotty pine construction of the bed gave the room a woodsy feel that suited the "Vermont B&B getaway" experience well. The natural gas fireplace gave off plenty of heat and had a convincing simulated-wood appearance. Room 17 is situated in the topmost building, so the room's view overlooked the rest of the Hob Knob property. It was a nice view and looked lovely when the snow was falling. The room's kitchen was limited but functional. Accommodations were a microwave, mini-fridge, small sink, and basic silverware, plates, bowls, mugs, and glasses.

I have only two gripes with the Hob Knob Inn. 1. My SUV has unfortunately poor traction in the snow, and it could not make the climb all the way up to our room while snow was falling. The driveway was plowed often enough, but the snow became icy as cars traveled over it. My SUV was barely able to make it up the primary driveway into the first parking lot. The Hob Knob is located on a major road with no other parking nearby, so parking elsewhere and walking is not an option. If you have 4-wheel drive or snow tires, this is a non-issue.

2. The complementary continental breakfast was weak. It consisted of a small sliced bread selection (toaster present), diced fruit, oatmeal, and I think two brands of cereal to pick from. I consider muffins, scrambled eggs, bacon, and breakfast sausages mandatory, and make-your-own waffles and croissants a bonus. I'm sorry, but oatmeal with fresh fruit is just not enough to get me going in the morning. I should note that more fulfilling breakfasts can be ordered, but that'll cost you extra.

So the room gets a 4/5, but breakfast gets 2/5. Make sure your car can handle icy hills if snow is forecast. If you eat light in the morning, or plan on going out for breakfast (or making your own), I highly recommend the Hob Knob Inn.
