We went to O'Grady's in early January. We had a good 20 minute wait after being told that we would be seated in 5 - 10 minutes. Hostess told us that the servers were trying to manage the tables in their sections so additional seatings would have to wait. There were numerous empty tables so that made the wait feel worse. I will start with...........the food was excellent. We expected basic pub fare and were pleasantly surprised by what we had. I had a burger and my husband had the shepherds pie. Both were delicious! We were with our 4 year old who also enjoyed his grilled cheese. The only negative to this place is that the serving staff seemed overwhelmed. Our waitress served us but never came back to see if we were all ok and/or needed anything else. My husband would have liked a second beer but we never saw the waitress. By the time she came back dinner was over and it was time to leave. That's a pretty basic oversight that the owner should be addressing - more direction/training is need for the staff. The atmosphere is good. We were impressed that the owner came over to inquire if we were pleased with our meal. I found myself genuinely rooting for him to do well and for O'Grady's to become a dining standout in Stowe. We will definitely return to this place - mainly because the food was excellent and owner is very personable. Hopefully the wait staff issue will dissipate as O'Grady's becomes more established.
