The dining room at Trapp Family Lodge is lovely and well appointed. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, as is the very professional staff. We loved our appetizers: Mussel Soup and a salad with arugula, frisee, goat cheese and beets. The dinner course unfortunately was disappointing. My entree was fabulous - I had the Rack of Lamb with Mashed Potatoes and a rich lamb jus. The meat was cooked perfectly and the meal was a success. Richard ordered the locally-raised Maple-glazed Chicken with roasted vegetables. The chicken was overcooked and dry and the vegetables were very undercooked and inedible. He sent his meal back.

To the credit of the restaurant, our waiter was very gracious and immediately offered to take the meal off our bill, and they also comped us a dessert, which we greatly appreciated. This is a perfect example of how to make something immediately right when a mistake is made.

The wine list is very extensive and we chose the Knight's Valley Cabernet which was sublime.

Because of how they handled the situation, we felt really taken care of and would recommend them for a return trip.

Having dinner at the Trapp Family Lodge is the perfect combination of comfort and upscale dining. We arrived early for our reservation and decided to have a cocktail in the lounge. The pianist played everything from the classics to Adele. In the dining room we were greeted with the warmth of candle light and an extensive wine list. The menu is concise and everything is prepared with thought and passion. The lamb was the best I have ever tasted. My husband ordered the maple-chili chicken which offered a unique flavor combination to a basic entrée. Of course we had to sample the delicious ice cream which is sourced locally. This was a memorable ending to our vacation in the mountains. Thank you Trapp Family Lodge!

Dinner at the Trapp Family Lodge was wonderful! The food was delicious- we tried several dishes new to me and loved them. Our menu was paired with the Trapp Lagers and the pairings were perfect-I especially liked the Trosten Winter Lager and the dessert that the chef created to go with it- a goat-cheese cheesecake. The dining room was warm and inviting, and the servers were very attentive. Overall, an excellent dining experience that I would highly recommend!

I just wanted to let you know how good the dinner was last night. We have enjoyed many dinners over the years at the Trapp Family Lodge but last night was by far the best. The taste, the presentation and the service was exceptional.

Food
All our dishes were wonderful. Tasty from fresh ingredients and great presentation. The duck leg confit appetizer was of excellent taste and big enough to share. For main dishes the Veal Schnitzel with Spätzles was tender and juicy. It came garnished with fresh vegetables. The sea scallops were big and tender, and came on top of a tasty polenta. Unfortunately, we have no room left for dessert. Our son try the homemade icecream, which he liked very much.

Room
The restaurant has plenty of space within tables and it is very nicely decorated

Service
The service was prompt, efficient and cordial.
