Description: The Lounge offers a sampling of our Vermont and Austrian specialties as well as American favorites such as burgers and seafood. Our intimate lounge is a great spot to enjoy the fine musical talents of Chris Vigneau and Kathi Tarrant. Fireplace in winter/outdoor patio dining in summer/early fall.

Ate in the lounge for lunch, dinning room is not open. Food was just okay and is pricy. Lounge is nothing to rave about, staff was polite, but not friendly. View is lovely. Gift store was just so-so.
Glad I went but would not return for a visit.

Sitting on the outdoor patio at the Trapp Family Lodge's "Lounge at Trapp Family Lodge" is such a treat. Usually the patio is open for lunch in the summer and fall, call ahead to be sure. Last week, wintertime, we dined inside in the actual Trapp Family Lodge "Lounge". Their burgers are grass-fed and delicious. Always on the menu are Bratwurst with homemade sauerkraut. In the summer salad items often come from the hotel's garden. Homemade soups are expensive but delicious. In the winter the Lounge offers: casual dining, good service, a limited but delicious menu, usually a wood fire, good views through the lounge's many windows, and, of course, a bar which serves the normal choices along with Trapp brewed beers. The Vienna is an especially delicious brew. Austrian ski lodges really look like this.

We were staying in Stowe and I had read about the Trapp Family Lodge. So we made time to go have lunch and visit the property. Our first step through the door took us back in time, first impression "dated and tired". The walk down the hall to the lounge reminded us of a retirement home. The lounge area highlight was the blazing fire. The service was fine and the food adequate. Wouldn't recommend.

Great brewed beer, nice surroundings, fresh hot food... a good experience all around. The apple strudel for dessert was awesome.

the atmosphere is wonderful; John Cassel on the piano plays anything and everything; the Johannesburger is a special treat and of course the Trapp lager is available
