We dropped in for a late lunch on Labor Day weekend while vacationing in Stowe. The road sign on Rte 108 is flashy and gets your attention, the place looks like a run down garage with a couple of building add-ons; garage doors open the indoors to the outdoors with picnic tables on an outdoor patio area. Couple of flat screen TV's turned into the sports channels.

You give your orders indoors, then grab a seat where your meal finds its way in a reasonable time. Menu has a good mix of burgers and accompaniments; there are plenty of drink options- non-alcohol & alcohol - the margaritas were just ok. BUT- the burgers & fries are excellent!

Service was ok - mostly college age/senior high summer student types - friendly & polite when you can get their attention. The place is popular judging from the ever present customers when passing by. Biggest complaint - the poor location of outdoor garbage can near the tables resulted in PITA flies on a sunny & warm sunny afternoon, otherwise, a definite repeat visit on future trips to the area.

This is a great place. Its not fancy at all, but its perfect for kids or a bunch of college buddies. The food is great. It's delievered right to your table and its prepared quickly. The burgers are more than ample in size and there's even a grilled cheese on the menu for the bitties!

Great casual place for a burger and beer and the patio in Stowe!!! Even the sliders are good. Have the fresh cut fries or the onion rings are very large, enough to share. A must go if looking for a good quality quick burger!

Decent beer selection, burger heavy menu.
Great place to stop for a couple of beers, not much else.
Sat at the bar, all of the other customers were employees or friends of employees. They were not charged for drinks.

I was.

Outstanding location, bad service.

The Blue Donkey was mentioned by my very young grandchildren. They were brought there by a friend of the family and loved it. The building catches your eye with the blue donkey sign near the street. It is in the area of the bike path so this makes it a fun place to stop and compare stories of the morning on the path.

You place your order and get a number to wait for your food. This gives you a chance to pick a table inside or outside. I saw a volley ball net set up for exercise and of course the bar is open to walk in and still keep track of the game while getting a beer. It was early so only the people coming off the bike path seemed to be around when we were there.

The hamburger was huge and done to perfection. There were other choices that were enjoyed by the kids like a chicken wrap and curley fries. The onion rings are my favorite.
You might not want to stop if you are in a big rush because this restaurant isn't very big and everything is made fresh to order.
