I am part of a large (15-25 person) group in their late 20's/30's that has rented ski houses in and around VT each year for the last ten years. Last year we stayed at the Mount Mansfield Farm and liked it so much that we came back again this year. We have rented Stowe properties that are similar in size and while there are other nice houses out there, none present the combination of value and amenities that you find here.
The house is well decorated with a real feeling of being connected to the history of the area and the location could not be closer without being slope side. As it is right on the free ski trolley line you can step out the door in the morning and get picked up at the end of the driveway, minutes to the base. At the end of the day you can either ski back-country trails or the Toll House to within a few hundred yard walk of the house (or take the return trolley to the front door).
When you first drive up and walk in there is WOW factor with the decoration, layout and views. Plenty of actual bathrooms and bedrooms that are not misleading converted spaces and the hot tub is clean and big enough for a large group to rotate through.
Gerry is a friendly and interesting owner/host who will introduce you to his famous Clydesdales and recommend great snowshoe trails right out the back door. He is available if you need him and will stay out of your hair if you don't.
The house is set up with plenty of media options and the open floor plan works for a large group to come together. I would not recommend the Mt. Mansfield Farm for a blowout (it's too classy), but it is a great space for a respectful group that likes to ski and play hard.

We have stayed at this house twice. Once in winter, and the other time in the fall. We LOVED it both times, and had a great time. It's a unique property in that there is SO much to do in the immediate area, yet the house is perfectly located off the beaten path. It's off the road, on the hill, and in the woods, surrounded by thick forests. It is a perfect place to feel like you are away from civilization, but you're so close to everything!. The house is very warm and cozy (but it's NOT Small...it's Large) and open in the large living room overlooking the horses in their fenced in pasture. It's fun to be able to see the horses, go out and pet them, and then put on snowshoes and head out into the woods right from the house. It's also wonderful to have a first class dinner at a top Stowe restaurant, and then in a matter of no time easily be back to the house in the woods, sitting in front of the fire and relaxing. You can fit so many people comfortably in the place as it has several bedrooms, and a large kitchen. It's the perfect place for large groups of people such as the girls and/or guys group getaway, as well as just a few couples. I highly recommend this house and we'll definitely be back.
