That was the latest I have ever skied powder in the east and I felt like a little kid. Would like to return for regular season when everything is open. Very nice area overall.

“Great skiing - even in a snowstorm!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2014

Great day on the slopes. Took the quad lift once and FROZE - so every time up after I took the Gondola. Nice touch and a great way to warm up before skiing back down the mountain.
As always - everyone there was super friendly and helpful!

“Skiing with beautiful views!”

The two of us sent to the scenic trails, and the youngest took a class, being his first time. The teacher was patient, kind, and friendly!

“What's with your silverware & lift lines?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2014

Maybe they've changed it since we dined/stayed there, but the fork that reached 4 inches off the edge of the plate was akin to a trident Poseidon might've manned under the sea. It was ridiculous; same with the knife. The hotel itself is quite nice, over-priced like everything on Stowe Mt (not the town/village, but the mountain), and the atmosphere in the summer was a little...snooty, but it's a gorgeous mountain. I don't think AIG had anything to do with that as much as Mother Nature did, however. What concerns me is the way that the SMC seems to be trying to separate itself from the village and create a self-contained resort of its own, more like Vail or Aspen. It's already cost-prohibitive in a number of ways for the middle class, but noting its corporate ownership, maybe that's the intent? Technically, if an AIG subsidiary still owns SMC, and AIG received a few billion dollars of taxpayers' money for their bailout, doesn't the middle class actually own part of the resort? Sure didn't feel that way. I skied Sugarbush and Jay on both trips to Stowe this winter - ate/drank in local establishments, but I think the days of skiing a $98 hill have passed, especially with 20-30 min waits at the bottom of the quad. C'mon guys, do something for your people.

“Stowe is a great great mtn”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2014

Loved Stowe but buy your ski tickets online before you come and save big. Regular tkt was $95...only $84...On Mtn eating is pricey as to be expected...almost at the Vail level of costs.
