We started at Spruce Peak, a newer section, and I was very impressed with the attention to detail, down to the beautiful tile in the bathrooms. We had attempted to start at the main lodge, but found very long lines, so we took the free gondola to the newer side. There was plenty of room to stow a boot bag in a cubby, and chairs to get your boots changed in. Of course, the bar (Hourglass) overlooking the slopes had fabulous drinks and good food - for a price. There are many nice intermediate cruising runs on that side, too. There's a line for the gondola to the top, but it moves fast. Nice touch - tissue boxes at the end of the run! Would be nice to have ski cards loaded with a limited number of runs, for some sort of discount.

Stowe Mountain is beautiful! We enjoyed skiing on the mountain, but prefer the powder found in the West. We are looking forward to coming back to Stowe in the summer or fall, as this is certainly a great place to visit in all seasons.

I've been to Killington and Stratton in VT and this is my favorite mountain so far. Lots of great runs and a better than usual bunny slope for my beginner friends. Not to mention the best food I've had on the slopes. Go eat at the Spruce Mountain Lodge (on the beginners side). So many choices, bathrooms well thought out for skiers/boarders. Clean and awesome.

Despite heavy rain downpours just days before we came, the snow was groomed, brushed and perfect. They had the snow guns on all night just to get the mnt back into shape! Great time, NO LINES!
