Traveling between Smugglers Notch and Stowe one must cross through the Notch. A drive that is beautiful during the day and scary at night. At one point in the Notch there are S turns with rocks on both sides of the road and the roadway goes to one lane through some of these turns. Definitely an experience. Along side the road were it is wider they have small pull offs for hikers to park. On the North end there is a comfort station with a larger parking area for hikers and rock climbers. For the adventurous I would recommend a pass through the Notch. The Notch is closed in the winter.

Smugglers notch park is quite beautiful. Tons of beautiful hicking trails, and the Notch area is really something. The drive is spectacular, and the many trails in the area are good for a small or long hike.

The drive thru Smugglers Notch is amazing. Huge boulders appear to be in the middle of the road. Wonderful for camera enthusiasts.

We loved the drive thru the park you wind around and around passing huge rocks along the way. This was fun and free.

Hiked to Sterling Pond. The trip was very long and arduous but the scene at the top was worth the effort.
