Found staff very helpful and friendly for purchasing lift ticket and rentals. Also lots of staff for lifts. Skiied 2 days, once just for a few hours to start off and once with a beginner so stayed on the green slopes. Plan ahead or look online to get better price on lift tickets. Our hotel (Golden Eagle) had a much better deal than at the resort ($80 vs $98). Also look in town for ski rentals. Saved $25 ($39 vs $64 including helmet and goggles) by going to AJ's and using a discount coupon found everywhere. There are free lockers at the lodge, but by 9:30 AM we were lucky to find one. Food is good but overpriced (normal for ski resorts I think) and they were so crowded we could not find any seats. Inspiration (green) is good place for beginners to start, followed by Easy Street and the Alpine double lift. Side Street (blue) very bumpy with a steep section that got a bit icy due to conditions. So overall good, needs more lockers and capacity in dining room for peak times. You can save on tickets and rentals if you look around.

Spruce Peak in Stowe is a must. Very well groomed trails, high end quality trails and restaurants. The staff are proud and so friendly. The lodge is almost brand new and offer all you can think of. The Christmas decorations and lights were amazing. I know it helps as we got there with a good 20 inches of fresh snow but they groomed them beautifully. We also visited Jay Peak during the same week and we were so disappointed on the ski conditions and how not well groomed the trails were.

I wish to place on record, our sincere thanks and appreciation to Peter, the concierge, and Samantha from Ticket Sales, who both went above and beyond in being sensitive to our needs, and responding to our request.
While on a recent trip, we ended up climbing the Auto Toll Road only to have to turn back as the cloud cover rendered zero visibility. As it was evening, and very close to gates closing, we had no choice but to turn back. On that point, it would have been better if Kim, who issued our entry ticket had counselled us against going up, as it was already cloudy and visibly so. She also told us we could hike for abt 20 mins, which as we found out the next day, was clearly insufficient.
When we returned back to base, Kim said she did not have the authority to allow us to use the ticket the next morning, and suggested with approach Guest Services @ Spruce Peak. That was the only good advice we recd from her.
Between Peter and Samantha, they ensured that we were able to get another bit of the cherry next morning, and enjoyed a glorious and memorable visit up Mt Mansfield.
Spruce Peak needs more such, and I do hope to find them around the next time we visit.

We found the cliffs at the top and wow(!) what a view! We were alone on the trail once we got past Sterling Pond and the Smuggler's Notch Ski Lift and were happy to have bought the trail map. It was a perfect hiking day. Will be back again!
