The rooms were nice. They were clean. The "maid" staff did a very good job every day. The breakfast was good and tasty. Most of the staff in the restaurant were nice. One waitress in particular was very nice and polite. Another younger one appeared very unsure of herself and when she didn't hear what the guest said, instead of saying "excuse me" or "I'm sorry, I didn't hear you", her response was "what?", sounded awful. Another waitress was kind of rushed and busy, some mornings we seemed to wait quite a bit. The afternoon tea was very disappointing. Unfortunately, when a Brit hears Afternoon Tea they expect a bit more than hot water, t-bags and cookies. The grounds were very nice to look at. It would have been helpful if they could have offered dinner service.

The location of this hotel is great. Very near the Stowe skiing area and walkable (15 minutes) to Stowe 'downtown'. The reception clerks were all extremely nice and hospitable.

The grounds and pool are very nice. I wish that they kept the parking in the 'back', instead of the 'front' since there are little kids around. But, there are big road bumps to keep cars going slowly.

There is a playground suitable for younger kids. It is dated, and nothing 'fancy', but working and the kids liked it.

The pools here are fabulous! The pool house is well appointed with a lofted ceiling. It is more of a play pool, than a lap-swim pool, but perfect for families.

There is even a little pond to go fishing.

The problem with the motel is the rooms : they need both internal (structural?) and cosmetic updating. We stayed in the 'main' building where the reception desk is. Our room was damp and dank the whole time, irrespective of the weather. The carpet seemed a bit wet, and the room had that a little wet smell. Unfortunately, it caused my daughter's asthma to flair.

All-in-all we might try this hotel again if we could stay in another one of the (newer?) buildings.

Stayed there for three nights. Very quiet and well maintained resort. We really enjoyed the outdoor and indoor pools. Our5-year old daughter had a really good time. Staff was friendly. Near the bike path and a lot of restaurants (you have to try Piecasso).

This would be my family's first stay in any resort that was not a chain, like Marriot or Hilton. We enjoyed all it had to offer. The indoor heated pool was really heated. Lol. Breakfast was great, love that they serve early. The people at the front desk were so hospitable- so not used to that being that we're from NY.
I would've given it four and a half stars but there were two things I should mention. First, the resort is a bit dated, but also clean. It could do with a touch up.
Two, the stove top in our efficiency kitchen didn't work, it was late so it could not be fixed, so Mark- great guy- gave us use of the one in the room next door. On the bright side, the next day, it still wasn't fixed so he offered us another room, a 10% discount for the trouble AND a bottle of red wine!! What else could I ask for??!! He did it with a smile. : )
All in all, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!!!

Had a great stay here during our first visit to Stowe, Vermont. Loved how it was pet friendly (they even had a pet bed and pet dishes waiting for us in the room when we checked in). The free snowshoeing and other activities are great as well (pool, spa, etc)! Breakfast every morning was also quite good. The wi-fi was a little unstable. They had to reset it a few times, but gave us a $50.00 credit on our stay (we didn't even mention a credit or anything but they offered it up to us). The rooms are a little outdated, but they are clean and well worth the value. We will definately be returning again when we plan our next trip to Stowe!

We'd definitely go back to this hotel in future. We had a mini-suite which had a fridge, microwave and coffee machine (but pack your travel kettle if you're a Brit) so we could be quite self-contained. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was just a short walk to town or a short drive to the mountains. We enjoyed the games room and the pool but it's worth a return trip for the peanut cookies alone.
