I have eaten here several times, The Varied menu is always adding something new, so I never get bored with it. I second the comment about the Ruben sandwich- perfect! The soups are yummy and the quiche is delicious and portions generous. The café is tucked away in a renovated manufacturing building which also houses a heath center (written in blue across the river front of the building) The theme of the café brings back the days when the factory was humming, Back to the café. The staff is very friendly and willing to please. When the coffee is not hot enough they offer to brew a new pot! Service is quite fast considering everything is cooked to order.

Today was my second visit. I had a Rueben the first time and it was extraordinarily good. A combination of yum and crunch on fresh bread. Today I had the breakfast full stack - amazing with the best bacon ever. We sat and watched mallards frolicking on the ice - a perfect place, great host and indoor parking.

Found the Lunchbox Cafe on Tripadvisor while looking for a place to stop on the way home from ski country. You cross a footbridge over the Black River into a renovated factory building. Had a well-made black bean soup and a tasty southwest chicken sandwich.

Excellent lunches prepared from scratch. Quiche, chili/cornbread, Turkey potpies, salads and many specials of the day-yum! Eat breakfast or lunch overlooking the Black River with it's the resident ducks and impressive falls. Find the Lunchbox Cafe just down the hall from the awe-inspiring Public Art Showcase known as The Great Hall.

The LC is in the old Fellows Gear plant on River Street in Springfield. The huge main hall of the factory is now an art space and worth a look-see even if you are not hungry. There is also a history corner with fascinating pictures and exhibits of Springfield's industrial; glory days. We had burgers and soup in the cafe, overlooking the Black River. The food was excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful (including to our special requests for a low-carb Reuben).
