TIP: Arrive early, Sun-Thur. 5 to 5:45 & Fri-Sat. 4:30 to5:30 to get the “Early Bird Specials” for $16, and glass of house wine for $4. The Early Birds are truly sensational. I believe that the house whites and reds, often beautiful well balanced Italians served in high end gourmet crystal, are superlative values.
FOOD: There are usually 3 or 4 soups to select from the regular menu. My basket of breads included a nicely made Popover. My entrée choices are the Pork Schnitzel Lemon Caper Sauce or Shelburne Farms Chicken – sautéed with Cheddar Sauce. For a salad, the Mesculn with a crisp green mix is the top winner. Finish it off with a Maple Crème Brulee. Coffee is always fresh, hot, and whips Starbuck every time.
MENU: No, not the Chinese takeout with 500 options. There are enough carefully chosen entrées with variety and uniqueness to satisfy everyone with fresh ingredients and complimentary sauce flavors. Some beef, pork, seafood, chicken; and even a burger platter with veggies, and a knockout BBQ sauce.
KIDS MENU: Even shrimp! Fantastic choices!
SERVICE & WAIT STAFF: There have been some recent “grumpy” reviews that were critical of the service. I observed very carefully of my server, of the greeters, of the bus persons, and of other servers. All were super professional, courteous, attentive, and consistently helpful. My server Alison was accommodating, and gracious.
AMBIENCE & ATMOSPHERE: The exterior is an attractively “Victorian Lady” style cottage with many flowering plants. Inside there are many well ventilated spotlessly clean dining rooms. They are low sound level, quietly decorated spaces suitable for a romantic evening. There is good onsite parking.
SUMMARY: Friendly, delicious, refined, and wonderful with superior quality. Charm! Chef David deserves many star reviews and raves.

Walking up to paulines I'm thinking nice little country cafe maybe I'll a get a chicken fried steak or a pork tenderloin? Upon opening the door I was surprised the atmosphere was cramped and stuffy and not what I was expecting at all. They were gracious enough to have a menu posted by the door. A quick overview of the menu and thought what the hell give it a shot. I ended up ordering creamy tomato dill soup and cedar planked salmon. After I ordered the waitress brought over a small plate of bread and it was great. I quickly finished the bread and my soup arrived and I must say the creamy tomato dill soup was the best part of my dining experience. Once finished with that the salmon arrived right on time. At first glance of the plate there was a lot going on. Lentils, carrots, beans and a bed of greens under the salmon. There was nothing amazing about the main dish just average. Overall not a bad place for a date night if you don't mind laying down the dough$$ Dinner was $32.00 for a water soup and entree.

I ordered pork schnitzel and liked it. My mother ordered chicken with a lemon garlic sauce but it seemed more like a sweet sauce instead. They offered to get her something else which was good service. She choose to have the meal moved to another plate without the sauce and they complied. Based on hie helpful the wsier was, i would say the service was good. I enjoyed the meal and the restaurant.

This restaurant was a nice surprise. Although small, the food was wonderful. Great menu, courteous staff. Crème Brulee was wonderful.

Menu had a variety of choices with local sourcing where possible. They were willing to switch side dishes. Food was very good. Service only so-so.
