“you got what you pay for”

i stayed there september 3rd.

there was no hotels that has rooms availlable for this labor day weekend in burlington except the anchorage inn. when i arrived, iv seen the outside of the hotel, seems okay.they got a small check-in counter that show a lot of wear. so, when i walked to my room(3rd floor) i been scared.the carpets looked very old,and the baseboards was removed from the bottom of the walls. but the room looks good. its not the hilton but it was very clean.this hotel shows its age but its not that bad. comfy bed,bad pillows(i always bring mine anyway). they got a great indoor pool. unfortunately the hot tub was out of order. the breakfast aera is not very good, cereals n donuts, thats it. so if youre gonna stay there, just bring your pillow and plan to have a breakfast at a restaurant.

staff is great and helpful

i do recommend this hotel to somebody who wants a not expensive room, and is ready to live with some little flaws

Room Tip: ask for 3rd floor rooms

Yes, the price was the best I could find. A Labor Day event had led to many hotels being
totally booked. An '800' number operator identified this place for me. I would rather sleep in
a tent than stay here again.
First, the good things. The young people at the desk were polite and helpful. I needed
access to a refrigerator for medication, and that was quickly and pleasantly provided.
And, there was a bed to sleep in, though there was no mattress cover under the sheet.
Next, the less good things. I don't mind mismatched furniture, but the room was in the basement and felt damp and smelled mildly of that dampness (or mold?). There was a fly
(or maybe flies) that kept buzzing around the room. The on/off switch on the bedside
lamp barely worked. From the photographs of mold on bathtubs shown by another
reviewer, I am surprised that the Burlington Board of Health has not visited this place.
They could provide a clean, basic place to stay, for a relatively reasonable rate, but
they are not even doing that. I couldn't wait to get outside the next day and breath some
fresh air.

Room Tip: My room was in the basement. I have no idea what the rooms above that are like.

Avoid this place! It is a dump and the front desk clerk encountered was obnoxious.

Have not stayed at this location lately but decided to give it a try for old time sake this time. The one thing it use to have going for it was location but there are at least 6 chain hotels right close to it so it has lost that edge.
We use to stay often at this location because it is close to the medical center to which we have to go on a regular basis. They do offer a hospital visit rate at a reduced price if you have proof of appointment to verify it. That rate I learned this time is only for the person being seen and if another person is to stay in the room with them they add the cost of the extra person. This addition along with the taxes Burlington has for room & board and you total up to near one of the major chains close by. Some of these chains also offer a hospital rate now!
Do Not stay at this location if you have problems doing stairs because of medical reasons......you have stairs to do regardless of where your room is located. No elevator at all to any level. Pool & Whirlpool inside which I am told is clean and well taken care of. We did not use.
Very minimal free breakfast offered......coffee,juice, packaged doughnuts, one cereal, the very basics. The night we stayed, the hallway rugs never did get cleaned from the night before guest and showed it.
Now for the room: Double beds are worn out and should have been replaced long ago.
TV worked okay.....was older model but still doing its job well. A/C unit looked like it had been replaced not long ago. Very quiet unit and maintained the cooler temp all night long which did impress me. We were on the main street side but road noise was not a problem.
Overall the room was very clean but toilet was badly worn and sink drain was the pits. It (sink),would just not drain the water out. Again, these bad items are due to fact they are worn out from lack of attention and need to be replaced.
The counter staff on check-in: Very friendly and she made you feel welcome. So, final grade rating: If you want a place to lay your head for the night and aren't looking for anything fancy...... this will work for you. But there are several major chains just around the corner that won't cost you that much more.
We will go back to where we have been staying for the past couple of years for about the same cost and they give you a deluxe breakfast, no stairs, free computer, rooms have been up-graded, etc........ but they are about 5 minutes longer to travel to get to the hospital.
