This place is great. Service was the best we have had in a while. A very cozy place and the fireplace was perfect. Wonderful waitresses. We will go back soon.

We had just driven by this place on our way back to our B&B from the Adirondacks. As soon as we got in we asked the innkeepers for their dinner recommendations. "Shoreham Inn Pub." they said. Back in the car and another twelve minutes later we arrived again in Shoreham. Pulling up, we noted that most of the license plates were Vermont...a good sign that locals dine here.

We were instantly greeted and seated on the quiet side of the pub at a little table with an antique marble top and a tiny little table lamp. We hadn't even ordered and alreay we were happy!

We have been dining on seafood for several days and were anxious for a change. We overhead the waitress telling someone about the cheeseburger and we noticed that another table of locals had all ordered the cheeseburger. Two cheeseburgers please...medium well done.

After a "pint-wait" the cheeseburgers arrived. (Another pint, please!) OMG...huge...3/4 - 1 inch thick burgers. No way could these have been cooked medium well! Wrong, they were perfectly cooked...and juicy. I don't know what's in these burgers, but there is no need for onion, tomato, etc. Just enjoy the slice of melted Vermont cheddar and the perfectly cooked meat. Oh, and don't forget the herbies! Chunks of roasted/broiled potates with rosemary and other herbs.... Yum!!!!

What a great dining experience! Great service! Great food! And great ambience in this little pub dating back to the 1790s! Two more cheeseburgers please!

So as not repeat the already positive reviews (of which I totally agree,) I'll make some suggestions.

Arrive early for dinner if you want a choice of seating. There are three areas: outside, inside by the bar, and in the living room/dining areas between the two.
Tables are all different types and sizes. There is a Victorian marble topped table for two in the living/dining area near the fire place. There is a large banquet for a larger group of six or seven.

Plan to relax and enjoy a leisurely dinner. Service will be quick but there will be a wait for dinner. Everything is cooked fresh to order. Note: vegetables tend to be barely blanched and crunchy(yum) however, if you prefer softer vegetables, you should state that preference.

Menus are changed daily. While a few of the dishes tend to reappear on a frequent basis, such as the pork tenderloin, don't expect the same menu if you return with checking.

There is no airconditioning. While that has never mattered up here before recent summers, you may want to take that into account before making reservations.

As for reservations, they are not necessary but are a good idea for larger groups and weekends. The restaurant operates as a B&B so there are always a number of people pre-booked.

One of these days I will stay there. While I summer just down the road, I always enjoy going there and am intrigued by such a unique property.

Bon Appetit!

Chef Dominic takes time and effort to make sure that each dish is individually prepared at its peak with fresh ingredients and the touch of an artist.

As a group of five bicyclists plus support, we had dinner at the Shoreham Inn recently. The service was outstanding. We were seated outside and our drink order was taken and filled promptly. The menu was outstanding, with great choices available, including a spectular and inventive vegetarian entree. The appetizers all were hits - Caesar salad, mushroom soup, cheese plate. The entrees were all great, although the rib eye could have been thicker and rarer. Since the group was biking desserts were in order! All good. We then inquired as to whether they would be able to accommodate us for breakfast, even though we weren't staying at the Inn. They gave us a good price and they were very flexible on the time. We arrived at 7:30, the earliest they serve, and our table was ready, with coffee, juice, muffins, fruit, yogurt, and cereal. Great start. Then came the best frittata any of us had ever had. We asked to have the chef give us his secret, and he did! A memorable experience.
