A wonderful place for old and young - anyone for whom a teddy bear is special! At the Vermont Teddy Bear factory, our tour was led by a young, knowledgeable employee who interacted sweetly with the youngsters in the tour group of ten. You see the genesis of the teddy bears and what makes this particular bear so special. A half hour tour included a stop at the teddy bear hospital where the bears can be 'healed' - they have an IBU (intensive bear unit) along other hospital areas. The teddy bears are like members of the family, and can be tailored in fur and eye color and clothing for special occasions. The tour ended in the gift shop, with so many adorable bears all around, as well as other items for purchase.
This was a well spent hour+ that everyone enjoyed.

We took the kids here and had a really great time learning about the American craft work being done. Bears are expensive, but very high quality and we felt good making a purchase that would be part of a long lasting memory.

At her request, my lady friend and I visited this attraction during the height of the autumn colors season. A typical visit here includes a narrated 30-minute tour of the manufacturing plant and a visit to the well-appointed gift shop--naturally well stocked with a variety of (somewhat over-priced, in my opinion) Vermont Teddy Bear stuffed animals. Because she loves teddy bears and has made them herself in the past, she absolutely loved this tour. The tour guide clearly loves the teddy bear industry, and did an excellent job of keeping it interesting (via numerous industry-related and semi-humorous puns)--even if you're not really much of a teddy bear fan. A must see for all teddy bear fans--especially women and kids, and worth a visit for those traveling with them.

Worth the small fee ($4) to take a 30 minute tour. You get to see how the bear is built from beginning to end. You actually see them being hand sewn right before your very eyes. The teddy bear hospital portion of the tour was my favorite. Real people who have sent their bears back for repair. It's a good way to kill an hour in Vermont.
