I love coming here out of season just for the serenity and views of a working landscape — lots of options for walking, light hiking with the dog on a leash from Nov.1 unti March 31. Cross country skiing (on your own skis) if there is snow. Cross country running...It also offers educational programming so check out the calendar of events. And the store at the entrance has a really nice assortment of books and samples of their cheese. I swear by Tractor Cheddar.

An absolutely beautiful area. This is definitely a large and fairly crowded farm (lots of tours, visitors, and tourists), and roads are drivable and paved. This would be a great area to visit as a family, you can pet goats, see chickens and rabbits, and watch cheese being made.

We were really glad to stop by, the views and walking trails were beautiful. If you're looking for a more rustic farm feeling, though, this is probably not your place (maybe check out Consider Bardwell Farm instead). Absolutely worth the visit, you won't be disappointed (unless you don't want to pay the ~$10 entrance fee).

This is my favorite brunch spot. The Inn is so beautiful (the dining room feels like you are eating in a hotel, but a couple of tables have views). It is a must stop if you are visiting Vermont. Perfect backdrop for a photo shoot. Need a reservation during season.

We went there one day after the farm closed for winter. We were still welcomed in the Welcome Centre. The shop is still open and I bought some extremely fresh eggs. We also drove around the farm and took in the views of the autumn colour.

Went here with friends for brunch (which gives you free entry to the estate). Food was quite good. Although it was on the cold and windy side, we enjoyed walking the grounds of the hotel building before taking our cars to the farm where we saw various farm animals and where they offer tours and exhibits (like cheese-making). The grounds are amazingly well cared for throughout this huge property. Kudos!

The property tour is a one and a half hour tram ride through the property with stops at the hotel and the cheese making facility. It ends with a cheese tasting. The price of $13 for adults and $12 for seniors is very fair. And the tour guide we had was very knowledgeable and friendly.

This was the last stop of our 5 day tour and what a great way to end it! The fram and it’s history are beautiful! It’s windeful to see that it is now being used for educational purposes not only for preservation but to help teach future generations. You can walk or ride for a tour, but whichever route you take it’s worth doing. The history and architecture are amazing! Nice casual way to spend a couple hours (or more if you like) learning and appreciating days gone by.

We didn't regret coming to Shelburne Farms, not only they make some delicious cheddar but it is done in a beautiful setting. We walked to see the view of Lake Champlain and my son loved petting the twin goats and the three sheeps as well as milking the cow. We ate outside from the outdoor kitchen on the picnic table, they did a wonderful job preparing us burgers and grilled cheese sandwich, the chili was superb and I wish I had the recipe. Everyone of the staff was super welcoming and seemed to love their job! I would love to work there too!

Visiting Shelburne Farms is an incredible experience not to be missed! We took the guided tour of the grounds and the house with Sue, who was an excellent source of information about this remarkable property. This working farm is steeped in history, and the views overlooking Lake Champlain are nothing short of spectacular. We definitely plan to return, as there is so much more to see and do at this unique and historic location.
