Defently a must see...so many interestin things to see and learn about the life at the 19th century. a lot of fun for children, they didn't want to leave the carousel...and the apple trees all around make it look so nice

“Shelburne Museum is ABSOLUTELY GREAT!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 28, 2013

It's a great thing that this Venue let's you take two days to explore, it's vast and so . .. very interesting. My absolute favorites were: The Andrew Wyatt, son and Grandson's exhibition, taxidermy room, miniature 19th century traveling circus display hall, reproduction of the Vanderbilts' New York apartment, interior of the train, quilt exhibition, print shop, and the new museum building. Unlike many museums each exhibit was housed in a separate building, and the walk from building to building on this gorgeous Vermont property made it even more sensory perfect. Apple trees in between the buildings, all dressed with interesting, functional unique benches, and so very relaxed and inviting. This museum makes for a great day's outing. If you are in Burlington, don't miss this museum, it's just 5 miles down Shelburne Rd and there's a bus that will take your there, too. And when you leave the Museum, stop by the Shelburne Country Store - classic!

“Something for everyone”

This vast collection of Americana is a real gem. There is something to interest visitors of any age. Also, with the addition of the new building they are able to display very impressive traveling exhibits.
