“One of the Best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2012

I have known about the Shelburne Museum for a very long time but never had the occassion to visit until last week. What a delightful experience. I've been to other museums like this before but the Shelburne stands alone in what it has to offer. My GF loved the gardens surrounding each of the homes and we were particularly fortunate this time of year to be inundated with butterflies all over the flowers. I got many great close-ups with my camera.

I really don't want to single anyone exhibit but I have to when it comes to the Ticonderoga. What a magnificent ship. I wish I was there in the day to enjoy it.

It appears that the children enjoy the exhibits as well because we never heard a child complaining or wanting to leave.

We only spent one day there and it was sufficient for us, a couple of sixty-somethings. Penlty of restrooms about the grounds as well.

“An amazing place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2012

Bring the family and spend the day. It had many amazing exhibits - the never ending miniature parade, the carousel, the Ticonderoga, the doll collection, and more. We went expecting to spend 2-3 hours. After 5 hours, we could have stayed. Your ticket is good for the next day so you can always return. Not to be missed.

“A Little bit of this and that”

It has something for everyone. The dolls are a collection to see and the old farm machines. There is art and of course the Ticonderoga.

“Spent two days ... Well worth it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2012

We were there two full afternoons, and only missed (by accident) seeing the Beach building. VT visitor centers have coupons, but the best one we got was from our B&B for $5 off each ticket. It does take two days to see it all, or a very full day from open to closing time. I wished someone would have provided an overall context to why this assembly of buildings and items made sense to put the very diverse collection into context. An audio tour option would have been fantastic, and we would have paid extra for it. A list of guided tour times would have been beneficial also, but in its absence, be sure to ask, as these are very informative. We ate there both days....good food, but outdoor grill shuts down at 2 pm, and they put away deli items at least 30 min early, but the pre-made sandwich was good. There is a lot of walking, so the tram is very helpful. We would return.

“Very interesting, enjoyable, worth 1/2 a day”

Enjoyed the atmosphere and eclectic collection of Americana. Lots of walking or take the constantly running shuttle. Enough interesting exhibits for adults and kids. All the staff was friendly and welcoming.
