“Great family place”
Reviewed August 30, 2008

The Best Western Rutland, VT. is a good hotel. It is condo style and gives you plenty of room to spread out. We are a family of four and we had plenty of room for our younsters to play, watch tv, etc. It is clean with granite countertops in the kitchen. The bathrooms are average, but clean. The beds are lovely. They have nice white duvet covers and you can tell that they are kept washed. Full size fridge, oven and dish washer. Pull out sofa in the living room. The pool was lovely. They had two tennis courts and had misc. game balls at the front desk for your use. The game room in the main part of the hotel leaves alot to be desired. I think that they should either step it up, or just not have it. It is in the part of the building were they do the laundry and it just grossed me out. I would definately go back. Great rates. Good space. And a very nice staff.

  • Liked — the size of the condo/suite.
  • Disliked — Area/Rutland not the prettiest place.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights this summer. The hotel staff was extremely helpful, friendly and accomodating. They even brought us a crib for our infant son, free of charge. Our suite had a very homey feel to it with a nice private patio. Beds were unbelievably comfortable with newly washed linen (not the typical hotel covers). Kitchen came equipped with pots, dishes, full size fridge, oven and gas ranges. Overall, very clean, very friendly, and reasonable too. We can't wait to return again soon!

This location was part of a block for a local weekend. The bathroom was cleaner than I expected, and the staff really went above and beyond. This included setting up two 3:30 wake up calls because people frequently fall back to sleep. Parking was available right next to the buildings.

However-earplugs are strongly recommended. Even if the next room was vacant, dragging suitcases up and down the wooden staircases are close to deafening. This was in summer-I can't imagine the volume when snowboards are involved. The price was right and I would return, just plan accordingly.

The price is right here and it is so very clean. Even has the bedding that is all washed between guests. Very accommidating as we booked late for a two week stay but they were able to accomidate us by finding a suite for us. The suites are better than the rooms, however, unless you are going to be in the room a lot of the time the rooms are fine, and again very clean.

Breakfast is okay. Again, very clean area. Waffles are ready to be made, fresh fruit, choice of breads, muffins, bagels. I have been to other places that offer more but this is okay.

Price is fair, I would stay here again and reccomend it to others.

The Best Western in Rutland is a nice clean place to stay and a great value. Continental breakfast was good. Overall, very reasonably priced, no frills place to stay. Great place to crash for a night.

We were a family of four staying here for one night. The room was nice and clean, especially the beds seem cleaner than elsewhere. (They don't use the traditional blanket, but a sheet that is washed for every new guest).
But: The walls are thin between the rooms. At 05.30 the alarm clock went off on the neighbouring room, without anyone turning it off. We called the front desk, but nothing happened. After yet another half hour of alarm noise we went over to the front desk and complained again. This time they had someone go into the room and shut the alarm off. That is: they probably hit snooze, because the damn thing went off again a couple of minutes later...
So this lazy service from the front desk ruined an otherwise nice experience.

We had a problem with another hotel in Rutland and was referred to the Best Western after calling around to find vacancies. The staff was very helpful. We had a coupon for the Sunday night part of our stay and the room was only $53! Small room, but clean (2 double beds). Microwave and fridge were new. Pool wasn't open yet. Nice quiet location. Free breakfast was OK. Homey lodge-style lobby with newspapers, books, etc. We'll come back in the winter!!
