We travel to Vermont quite a bit and with the opening of the Hampton Inn thought we would give it a try. The hotel is very new, so things are clean and in good working order. The location is in walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Dicks Sporting Goods, Hannaford Grocery, Taco Bell, The 99er Steak House and a few others. I would skip the snacks for sale in the lobby, their three times as much as the grocery store. The beds were very comfortable and the air condition was nice and cool. I would gladly return to the Hampton Inn.

We just got back from a quick few days away, first stop of our non-planned trip was Rutland Vermont. Since it was the end of ski season we figured getting a room wouldn't be a problem and it wasn't. We walked in and asked for a room. The girl behind the counter was very nice. She told us it would be $139. a night, kinda steep since I just saw it online for $99 so I asked her about it and she replied that was online. She then went in the back and asked and the Manager gave us the $99. dollar rate. We were very thankful for that.
It is brand new within the last year. Three floors, indoor pool and a breakfast in the morning.
The breakfast was very nice, your typical fruit, breads cereal etc... and something hot, there were waffles and sausage the morning we were there.
The room was very clean, the only negative thing sI would have to say was our air conditioner was clangy and loud. We didn't think it should be for a new hotel. The only other issue in this particular hotel was the matresses slide off the box spring and the pillows kept sliding down in between the head board and the bed itself. Extra blanket in the closet with iron and board. hairdryer in bathroom. We ledt for awhile and came back to find that they had been in the re-clean but after thinking about it my husband figured that since he went down to ask for extra towels they must of thought there was a problem. They cleaned the room, restocked the bathroom and left complimentary waters, cookies and mints for us.
We would highly suggest this hotel.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Rutland for 2 days while skiing. The inn is brand new, everything in the room was nice and clean. The bathroom was roomy with nice granite countertop. The room itself was average size - plenty of room for 2. I was a bit worried after reading a review about other guests not being allowed to bring their skis into the room. The front desk clerk didn't say anything to us... and we didn't ask - just brought the skis up through the side entrance - no problems. The complimentary breakfast was pretty good - fresh fruit, yogurt, hot dish that varies daily, cereals, pastries, bagels, bread, etc. Overall it was a nice stay. We've stayed at alot of the chains up in Rutland and this one is by far the best.

Hampton Inns have set a new standard for "motel" accommodation and this Hampton cannot be faulted, especially if you like comfy beds and free grits for breakfast.

A noisy aircon was fixed almost instantly. Also, we stayed a 2nd night having just booked the one. The bill showed a higher rate for the 2nd night. This was corrected straightaway.

Loved the pool, the laundry and the business centre with free terminal.

Will stay again if we can!

After having stayed at all the major chain hotels in Rutland the Hampton Inn is far superior to all. The staff is welcoming, the rooms recently decorated and very clean. The bedding is all new, duvets laundered after every guest, pillows are outstanding, The continental breakfast served in the lobby is excellent. We will always stay at this hotel when visiting Rutland family in the future.

Went to Rutland for a family function in June 2007 and chose the Hampton because it was close to our family's home. A previous stay at the Holiday Inn next door was very average. The Hampton is new, clean, and well-appointed (opened in fall of 2006, I believe). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The free breakfast buffet was simple but very adequate. The room was very spacious and comfortable, with the new, special "Hampton Bed" that really was very comfy. The bathroom was clean and modern, as expected. A few minor complaints - the A/C unit was a bit noisy, and there was no fridge/minibar in the room. There is a small self-service food shop in the lobby with snacks, refrigerated beverages, and frozen foods, including Ben & Jerry's ice cream (what else would you expect in Vermont?). The hotel has free wireless internet, and a small (one computer) business center. There's also a pool and fitness center (which we didn't see or use). The hotel is located in a shopping center near a Michael's craft store, a supermarket, etc., so don't expect picture-perfect New England views while you're there. Overall, if you're not going for the scenery, this is a very good choice.

A nice, new (opened last fall), clean and comfortable Hampton Inn. We especially appreciated their little store of drinks and ice cream and frozen food on the night we were too tired to go out to dinner. The staff is pleasant and helpful, the rooms are comfortable, bright and clean, the breakfast area is large and well-organized. Only one elevator, but that was never a problem. We'll stay here again.
