Ramunto's is pretty much like any neighborhood pizzeria one would find in Boston, New York, or Chicago. That is to say, it is almost unique for a smallish Vermont town. The pizza crusts are fresh and made on the premises. The ingredients are fresh and the selection is good.
So why 4 stars and not 5? Part of the deduction is for a certain sogginess in the pizza if one orders too many "soft" extras, e.g. tomatoes, etc. This would include Ramunto's "kitchen sink" combo special. The "eat in" pizzas also tend to be just slightly underdone, which aggravates their softness. So, it may take a few tries and experimenting with the order, before you start getting the pizza you want time-after-time. Another slight quibble and a half star deduction, is that the premises are in desperate need of an upgrade. The floors in the eating area never look really clean, the booths are tattered, and the bathroom is dark, never looks clean, and is located between the back kitchen and the front. Yuck.
So there you have it. Great pizza, but you have to work at it.. And please upgrade those bathrooms!!!
