“Great restoration; awful acoustics.”

I saw Joe Bonamassa here, and if you didn't know his music already, you would have hated him. No nuance, no distinction between base or other instrument -- just noise. This is a guy who plays both acoustic and electric guitar with sensitivity; his vocals are powerful, and his backup is outstanding. Couldn't hear any of that in this venue - the amplification was ear-splitting for sure, but with no art. The seats are so small that even small people (short and skinny) were uncomfortable. Long-legged folks had to sit with their legs split otherwise they were smack up against the seat back in front of them.

The paramount folks have done a wonderful job of restoring the old building. It is so nice just to go in. It is not a real large theater, it holds around 800 people and the seating upstairs is a little tight for larger folks.
This year they put in a new sound system and offered free seating to watch the red sox play base ball.

This beautifully restored theater has rebirthed the arts in Rutland, VT. A wide variety of performances can be found. Tickets are usually available online. Not a bad seat in the house.. the theater is small enough to make any performance intimate, however the grandness of the building never allows you to feel cramped. Its worth a trip just to see the theater!

A renovated opera house with good acoustics and some quirks. The "original" orchestra seats are small by today's standards and really not suitable for ample figures. The wing seats tend to be a little more spacious. Sound is great almost everywhere. Parking is limited close to the theater.

I have seen numerous shows at the Paramount and I have not been disappointed yet. The atmosphere is timeless. Staff are all so friendly. There is such a variety of shows for all ages. I wish I could go more than I do. My husband and I try to go about 4 times a year.
