First, let me say how nice the staff here is. They couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.
Second, the resturaunt. It's very good, not great. Kids eat free though so that it a huge plus. They can choose from a decent menu and mine were happy. The breakfast buffet is very good and my kids really enjoyed it. It filled them up for a good day skiing.
The pool is excellent and there are two hot tubs with it. Again, my kids had a good time there.
The rooms were nice but I had problems with the heater. It wouldn't shut off and staff was having a hard time fixing it. I just shut it off finally and had no problems operating it manually. Te TV was a little balky too and some channels dis not work.
The proximity of two major ski areas to this hotel makes it worth while. only 15 minute to Pico and 25 or so to Killington. Also, there are many resturaunts, shopping and retail right in the area.

Room Tip: If you have kids, ask to be close to pool.

Recently stayed at this nice hotel for a weekend ski vacation, conveniently located to restaurants, malls, shopping, and skiing. The rate was exactly what we wanted to spend, includes breakfast, especially since we were skiing the weekend, and rates at the slopes were significantly high. It has a large indoor pool and two hot tubs, perfect for the whole family, which our daughter loved. If you don't mind the 20-30 mins drive to Killington/Pico, it is certainly a beautiful scenic ride on Rt 4. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will definitely consider coming back!

We stayed here the week of New Year's in 2012. Standard Holiday Inn, close to skiing. Decent indoor pool and hot tub. Reasonably priced for a holiday week and and accessible, especially for a last minute planned trip. Decent breakfast buffet. Room was small and a bit dark, but functional. We returned on New Year's Eve to the oddest crowd of revelers, humorous, interesting to watch, but happy we weren't there for the entire evening.

I have stayed at this location a few times over the years.
It has been in a process of undergoing renovations.
The staff are very nice. -- On this stay Megan at the desk was nice.
There were many areas of the hotel that were not clean ...I think mostly it was because of the renovations.
Again, I had to go through the pool area to get to my room.
This was fine...I understand it is just the configuration of the hotel...but, in the morning, I could not go back the way that I had come because the pool area was closed.
In my room:
1. few electrical plugs
2. rug was in need of vacuuming
3. ironing board was rickety
4. five second delay between channels (I timed it) ... it must have been because of the satellite feed?
5. Poor internet reception...bummer!
6. The area between wall and a/c was groddy. (see photo) ... As my husband says ..."there is no excuse for dirty."
The bathroom was small .. but, renovated and much better than in past years.
: -)

Overall this is a nice hotel, and it's within a half hour drive of Killington, Pico, and Okemo. Staying in Rutland is definitely cheaper than staying slopeside, and there are cheaper places to eat, etc. Plus you have your choice of several mountains to choose from. This hotel has a very nice indoor pool and hot tub, and free buffet breakfast was included. And when I say free breakfast, I mean real food, sitting at a real table, in a real restaurant. I hate the fake eggs and stale bagels some places try to pass off as breakfast! Anyway, I have also stayed at the Hampton Inn next door, and while I will admit that the rooms are slightly more modern there, this hotel is fine, and it costs less. Not to mention that the Hampton Inn did not have a hot tub when I stayed there.

We just returned from a two night stay at this Holiday Inn and were pleasntly surprised with our stay. We were slightly worried after reading some negative reviews but are loyal IHG Members and haven't had too many problems with the brand. The hotel was old but very clean. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were large. We expected a nice comfortable stay and we got a nice comfortable stay. The breakfast was a great start to a day on the slopes (If you aren't an IHG Member, join! Its Free to sign up and so is your breakfast!)
The renovations seemed to be complete. It appeared to us that the pool area could use a little more work. The hot tubs were not the most up to date out there.
Don't book your room at the Holiday Inn and expect The Westin... It's clean, comfortable, and a nice place to crash after a long day on the mountain!

It's a typical Holiday Inn but needs renovation which they are currently doing to this property. Location is good if you are looking for a ski weekend as it's bang in middle between killington & Okemo !! I felt it's a bit pricey for the area and the property looks run down from outside. Will probably might stay there next time but will also look for alternatives places to stay -
