“Pico Peak”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2014

Pico is the little sister to Killington.
This mountain has great views from the peak of 360 degrees.
The views range from being able to see Gore mountain in NY, to the Presidential Range in northern NH. Also to the north is Mt. Mansfield and Killington to the south a stones throw away.
The lodge is a great old log structure with fireplaces on all three levels - real wood!!
The first floor is your brown baggers, 2nd floor cafeteria, 3rd floor - the best bar in the area and new this year a small ski museum.
The mountain is open Thursday thru Monday.
Great value deals on M,Th, Fri.
Pike is the signature trail, usually groomed from top to bottom.
There are also some great natural snow gladed areas at Pico.
Pico is well worth a trip to enjoy the skiing and the great views, cap it off in the old school bar!

“Beautiful Pico Peak”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

I have lived in Rutland all my life and I think that Pico is so beautiful. In the fall the leaves are all different colors and so pretty. In the winter you can ski there at a real good price. I don't ski, but I have heard the prices are great.

“Small mountain, big personality, beautiful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

Be it with family or friends, or by yourself for a couple of runs, Pico is never disappointing.
It is never overcrowded, has terrain for everybody.
Want to avoid the big crowd of Killington? Pico is made for you.
Powder days are heaven. It is (until now) a best kept secret , favored by locals.
Don't forget to check out the waffle cabin!

“Feel of Simpler Vermont”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2013

If you want to get away from the industrially efficient atmosphere of a neighboring Killington-one of distinctively different merits- Pico Peak is much more in keeping with the qualities of Vermont well worth preserving. There's enough variety and challenge here for a few wonderful days on any level of efficiency, and on a midweek day, when the snow is just right, it's amazingly peaceful as well.

“Simply Beautiful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2013

Pico Peak is simply beautiful in both Summer and Winter. It is a must visit when in the Rutland/Killington area. From Rutland, when you travel through Mendon, don't forget to stop in the Country store on the right when you first get into Mendon. Pico Mountain itself has some really great restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets. If you are a Prime Rib lover, don't forget to dine in The Wobbly Barn right on Killington Road. The Prime Rib is the best around.
