“The best of New England on a plate!”

As part of our honeymoon we stayed in Vermont at the Park Light Inn B&B (see my review on this place also) and the owners recommended Leslie's for good wholesome food. Well, it was more than good wholesome food, it was simply amazing! The Rockingham Chicken dish just explodes in your mouth with so much flavour and you just can't get it down quick enough. The menu is not very big, but there is still so much choice and you can swap things around as well. You also get a salad and bread as part of your meal cost which is really great value. For dinner and wine for 2 people it cost around $50.

We were only in Vermont for 6 days, but chose to eat at Leslie's for 2 eveings that weeek as the food and the owners were amazing. If you eat anything in Vermont, please do consider Leslie's. I completely recommend it. They even catered for my husband's peanut allergy and my dairy intollerances.

If you see that cats, just say hi!!!

The perfect complement to a Vermont fall colour tour. Fantastic food, charming setting and excellent service. Great apple martini too!

“Terrible service”
Reviewed October 12, 2007

When we dined at Leslie's our group was basically ignored. They had no record of our reservation, and it seemed as though they weren't interested in seating us because of it. Even though they acknowledged it was their error. It wasn't until a member of our party suggested going somewhere else that they decided they could accomodate us.

From that point on, it seemed as though they were trying to make us feel unwelcome. The waitress came and got our drink order after about 15 minutes of seating us. When she delivered our drinks she took our salad dressing preferences. An hour and a half passed and no salads or bread. Finally, one member of our party inquired as to where our salads were. About 10 minutes later, they arrived and we had to ask for bread. None of the other patrons had to ask for bread - the waitress just brought it to them, and well before they received their salads. It was another hour before our meals arrived. All told, we were there for over three hours.

I only gave one star because of the service. It's a shame, because the food is really good. But our overall experience overshadows that.

No one in our party will ever return to Leslie's because of the poor service. I have been to countless restaurants in my lifetime, and NEVER have I received such horrible, unwelcoming service. Yes, it was that bad. We received an apology from the waitress, but nothing from the owner (who was there that night), no offer to take something off our bill - they did nothing to try and rectify the situation.

Leslie's Restaurant is a gem. The food is prepared with great attention to detail. Dressings and sauces are outstanding. The place was immaculate and the staff and owner welcoming and attentive. Loved it!
