Parker House Inn and Restaurant
Ranked #3 of 6 Quechee B&B and Inns

My wife and I wanted to take a quick trip to have dinner at Simon Pearce. We found the Parker House on the web, and being just next door thought it the perfect spot. Perfect it was. Upon arriving we were welcomed warmly, shown to our room, immediately given the wine glasses we requested. Adam could not have been a better host. The boiler was giving him fits, but he never was anything more than positive, and in a very short time, the hot water was up and running.

After enjoying a bottle of wine on the comfortable porch, we walked the 161 feet to Simon Pearce, and had a wonderful dinner. We slept beautifully in a very comfortable king size bed in the Emily room and got to chat with Adam while having the terrific breakfast he provided.

Next time we are looking forward to dining right at the Parker House, we hear that Alex, Adam's wife is an extraordinary chef.
Thanks for a great time

I have spenta great deal of time in New Orleans and Montreal, and my dining and overnight experince at THE PARKER HOUSE rivals all of my time in these exotic locales. The owner-chef Alexandra is masterful. Her Bouillibase is the best I have ever sampled. Sitting on the porch, overlooking the river, eating exquisitely prepared seafood and drinking a lovely margeaux---can life get any better? THIS was the best B&B in New England, and I cannot wait to return.

I surprised my husband for his birthday with a weekend away to Quechee. By luck I found the Parker House Inn via the web, and Adam was a superb host, arranging for a bottle of wine and treats for our arrival. His wife Alexandra is the chef for all the nightly dining, and the food was spectacular, I even mentioned to Adam that i enjoyed dining there more than the Simon Pearce restaurant, which was also fabulous....just the difference was the personal touches and a truly cozy ambience at Parker House. We stayed in the Rebecca Room which is one of two rooms with a King Size bed. Room was furnished beautifully and we were quite comfortable. Just be aware the bathroom is small in size but it was certainly adequate. Adam served up breakfast each morning, quite delicious! Adam was quite attentive always available when we needed anything. One other comment if you want A/C, just make sure to ask for it prior to your arrival to insure it is installed, considering time of year we went, it shouldnt of been that hot so it was understandable why it wasnt ready, but also given that we were in 80 degree heat and the room itself was quite warm, I would of expected it to already be up in the room and running. The inn is located right next to Simon Pearce, great place for dinner as well. We also hit Firestones and The Famers Diner for lunches, both are definitely worth dining it when visiting in Quechee. The Parker House Inn has a beautiful porch we were lucky enough to dine by the river. They have a cute sitting room up by the bedrooms with a TV you can watch videos or read in there. You cannot go wrong staying at this Inn, truly what a B&B experience should be!

We stayed in Parker House Inn for one night around mid October during the foliage season, occupying their newly renovated suite.

The suite is so cozy...with two bedrooms and a living room with a small open kitchen

Everything is well decorated with a sense of home! They even have two bathrobes in the master bedroom.

The owner is very accomodating and the breakfast is great!

The view is absolutely gorgeous! I definitely recommend this Inn to anyone who will be vising Quechee.

We stayed at the Parker House Inn and Restaurant for three nights in late August. The Inn is beautifully situated on Main Street, in front of a meandering river, in downtown Quechee. Alex and Adam, the Inn's owners, could not have been more welcoming of us (and our three young daughters) and more fun! We were provided the owner's suite, an apartment with two bedrooms and a living room. Tucked away at the top of the Inn, the suite was perfect for our family. We started each day with a hearty breakfast cooked by Adam, who greeted us with smiles and charm. After that we set out to explore the surrounding areas. From hiking in the Quechee Gorge, to a daytrip to Killington, to a swim in the lake, there was no dearth of outdoor activities in this picturesque part of the country. In the afternoons, the girls played with Adam and Alex's fantastic kids, and in the evenings, my husband and I relaxed by the bar while the kids relaxed upstairs. A perfect family get-away, hosted by a wonderful family!

We arrived on a Monday afternoon and were immediately greeted by Alex. We had orginially booked a smaller suite but were offered a gorgeous, oversized suite with a very nice bathroom/changing area with full closet and bathrobes. This due to a last minute cancellation. Also Alex let us know that children would have been staying close to our original room. It was a very nice surprise for our stay!

There is a full bar, sitting area ,several dining rooms and a wrap around porch overseeing the gorgeous surrounding lake. All amenities can be used during the day.

We decided to tour the Simon Pierce Studio's prior to our dinner reservation at Simon Pierce. After walking around the small town, including walking over the covered bridge we returned to The Parker House to have a nice glass of wine on the porch to watch the sunset.

The Parker House also offers a splendid melody of dinner choices but since we were in town for just one night we stuck with our dinner reservations at Simon Pierce.

BEST BETS: If you do go to Simon Pierce for dinner make your reservations ahead of time (strongly recommended). Dinner is expensive but worth it even if it is for a special ocassion. Ask to be seated when booking your reservation by the waterfall. The dining room literally is built right above the falls. It is something else to see! Another consideration is to get lunch there which much less expensive than dinner but still offers much of the same fare. For those Rachel Ray fans she did a review of this restaurant and you can find it by going to the Food Network website and researching her reviews. EXCELLENT & Romantic dinner! We loved every last bite!

In the morning, Alex served us an great breakfast with a medley of fruits, eggs and toast. There was also fresh squeezed OJ and a good brew of coffee and tea's available. We had the option of sitting on the deck to eat our breakfast but there was a chill in the air that morning, so we opted to stay indoors. The area is beautiful and there are several other shops within walking distance.

The Quechee Gorge is a must see and you should really walk up and down bothsides(It's about a mile walk back and forth to the gorge). It is located on the main road about a mile or so from the Parker House. There is a picnic area at the top of the gorge which is shaded, so dress appropriately. We loved the gorge, and even walked out sat on the rocks in awe of the running waterways. VERY RELAXING.

We will stay at the Parker House again when in the area. Alex and Adam were very pleasant, upbeat and accommodating.

July 2006
Six of us (and spouses) who have known each other since grade school put together a mini-reunion in July with the help of Alex and Adam and had a wonderful time – what an easy way to do a reunion! The morning began with Adam’s really, good pancakes on the porch, and twice we were treated to a hot-air balloon lift off above the river right in front of us – rides can be arranged through Adam.

After breakfast the group went in all directions – golfing, canoeing, biking, shopping (we visited the local markets selling maple sugar products and the shops in Hanover, NH just 20 minutes away). Adam suggested lunch next door at the Simon Pierce glass factory/store/restaurant, and we liked the food so much we ate there twice.

A husband and wife team, Adam runs the Inn and Alex “owns” the kitchen. With a staff of 14, someone’s always available to assist with a fresh pot of coffee, directions to take you anywhere, recommendations for restaurants, activities, shopping – just ask. But be sure to make reservations for dinner at the Inn (they don’t serve lunch) because Alex creates meals that mustn’t be missed - she and her staff do a spectacular job (check the menu on their webpage). Twelve of us were seated together on the porch for dinner with only the best from beginning to end – including the wine!

Good friends, good food, good times - we think you’ll agree!
