We didn't see any waitstaff or hostess for at least 4 or 5 minutes when we got there. Finally were told there was one table left in the dining car--the very last booth. Don't sit there if you are a normal size person! Very close quarters and not room to slide the table to make it more comfortable. We moved as soon as another booth was available.
Overcooked poached eggs, one was hard boiled and the other was almost. The homemade corned beef hash was good though. My spouse had Eggs Benedict. The English muffins were tough and again the poached eggs overcooked although not as much as mine. We were not asked if we wanted a coffee refill until our food was brought and food delivery was very slow. We had been here when it was Farina's and always had good meals and service. We will not return

We tried the Farmer's Diner for breakfast on the basis of a several year old recommendation in Bon Appetit magazine. Unfortunately, we did not consult Trip Advisor beforehand. All I can say is "ditto" to the other reviews you see here: Five minute wait to be seated in a half filled facility, over 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee, over 30 minutes (yes, 30) to get our meals of pancakes and eggs, and food that was average to below average - certainly not worth the wait. When asked we were told this was an "unusual" day but as we read the review here we realize it was anything but.

Walked in and the hostess was very rude to other customers and was a bit out of it. Waitress didn't bring drinks until 10 mins after our food came out. Forgot several items and two guests got there food after the rest of us finished. Would eat here as last resort!!

OK so the service was really slow the day were we there I guess they were short handed. But my friend had recommended it so we waited and am I glad we did. I had the reuben (perfect) and my husband had the hamburger (awesome on a homemade bun). The handcut French fries were the best ever. We also had the fresh mixed greens which were just that. Very good I would definitely come again.

The Farmers Diner looks adorable from the outside. But prepare yourself for at least a 20 minute wait before you sit (even if it's not busy), a neglectful waitstaff, and bland, greasy food. Don't bother eating at this tourist trap.
