The innkeepeer, Adam is a consummate host. Check in was painless and very welcoming despite not having a reservation. He was gracious and welcoming of our dog, offered us bowls and occasionally offered treats. After arrival, we dined on the deck, watching the sun gradually set. My partner and I live our lives in restaurants, this restaurant offered a classic menu which was well executed. We ordered a slew of appetizers, the escargot and lamb meatballs were terrific. We ordered hake provençal and roast half chicken. The plates at neighboring tables looked as wonderful. Small, tight, thoughtful wine list. Try the caramels for dessert and something else. We retired
for the evening with our nightcap and enjoyed a comfortable, well appointed room. Fantastic mattress! No television, but free WiFi. Fabulous older and well cared for property. Parking provided. Breakfast included, check our was painless and Adam was insightful and engaging!

We called this place on a whim for reservations when we couldn't get something next door at Simon Pearce. And after a few unremarkable meals there I am so thrilled to have found this place, our new favorite place to dine in VT. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly and seated on the lovely terrace. We were attended to immediately and our waitstaff humored our 5 year old with the offer of a Shirley Temple. I also appreciate when waitstaff volunteer meal ideas for children right off the bat- unsolicited. We enjoyed the fishmonger board- an incredible troika of trout, salmon and shrimp with fixins. I had a seasonal house salad and the best damn onion tart I've had stateside ever. My husband is a mega foodie and said the lamb was seriously the best he ever had. Don't you love when you find gems like this unexpectedly?

Everyone who eats in Quechee thinks that Simon Pearce is the only place to eat. Parker House is at least as good. The view is as good and the food is as good and I think kit has more personality than Simon Pearce. OK, so you can;t shop for glass while you wait.

We were in the Quechee area celebrating our anniversary and gave this place a try after reading reviews on here. Great decision! We started at the bar with perfectly made martinis. After that, we headed out to the beautiful porch which overlooked the river.. so very very pretty! The food and the service were both outstanding.. the owners were great. One of the nicest experiences ever.

We decided to try this restaurant based on the reviews and we were so glad we did. The atmosphere and decoration of the restaurant brings you right to Paris, the service is phenomenal and the food is amazing. The small menu focuses on fresh ingredients and small details that transforms a simple meal, like a meat board, into a unique flavor experience. The restaurant is in the pricey side, but worth every single penny.
