“excellent fare”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2007

recently spent two nights, three days in Woodstock Vermont...we ate one dinner and two lunches at Simon Pearce's restaurant...the food was excellent...we sampled many dishes and each one was executed with perfection. It is a wonderful place for lunch, reasonable and the portions large and dinner is just as good. Request a wondow overlooking the river.
The wait staff are congenial and professional. The table ware all Simon Pearce pieces put a special touch to the dining experience. Excellent spot...everyone should try it ... you will not be disappointed.

“A true delight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2007

My wife and I made our third trip to have dinner at Simon Pearce this
past week. Each time the experience has been wonderful. This time I specifically asked for a table overlooking the falls. When we arrived
for our 7 pm reservation (they had already told me that was a tough time for such a table), we were advised that it could be up to half an hour for our table of choice, we happily agreed to browse to lovely shop and were told that they would come to find us. Less than 10 minutes later, we were seated at a table with a spectacular view. Of course the tableware is all hand blown Simon Pearce glass, the service was excellent. Friendly, attentive but not hovering and never
rushed. The wine list is excellent and covers all tastes and price ranges, including as of this writing, a Zinfandel that never disappoints, that is barely priced above normal retail. I've had various seafoods before, all delicious, this time both my wife and I had the Terrace steak. We asked for medium rare and it was cooked and seasoned to perfection. We live in CT, and decided as the summer was waning to make the drive up for a memorable dinner. We had a wonderful time, complemented by a delightful stay next door at the Parker House (161 feet away according to Google Maps). We look forward to returning many times.

“Not in love with this place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2007

The setting is beautiful, the wine list is wonderful, and the service was great. Unfortunately, we were not overly impressed with the food. Given the prices, I expected better. I would go again, but just for wine and appetizers.

“Loved it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2006

We have eaten at the best restaurants in Boston, and Simon Pearce easily competes! Food is wonderful, wine list impressive, service is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is quite romantic---we had a window seat. Go early to see the glass blowing/pottery turning, as well as to take pictures of the covered bridge and water flowing over the damn.
