Over the years we have visited family in Vermont we have had lunch at Simon Pearce every chance we get. Never a bad meal, great atmosphere and a visit to the glassblowing is wonderful.

“Lunch with a View”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 16, 2012

Quechee Village is always a nice side trip when in central Vermont. The dining room at Simon Pearce hangs out over the mill pond and offers a nice view of the dam, the falls and the covered bridge (currently being replaced after the devastating flood of 2011). The food here is interesting, well prepared, and is served in a pleasant and sunny atmosphere in the glassed-in atrium. Unless it's off-season, it's wise to have a reservation as this is a very popular spot. Located in an old mill, the restaurant is a nice place to relax and enjoy a meal. The Simon Pearce store is also located in the building, and you can enjoy going downstairs to watch the artisen's blow the glass that is sold on the level above. Watching the glassblowing is free of charge; the food is reasonably priced and fresh; but don't expect any bargains in the retail store, prices there border on the obscene. Enjoy using the Simon Pearce glassware at lunch or dinner in the restaurant, as you can buy an entire lunch for two including a glass of vino for the price of one piece of stemware from the store.

“Nice local story, beautiful location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 13, 2012

While the food was not EVERYTHING that I had heard it was... it was good.

This is a beautiful location and it's nice to have such a large showcase and shopping of their work located within the building.

“dinner with amazing view”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 31, 2012

You dont even have to get a table by a window to appreciate the view--the view is pretty much everywhere. The food is always amazing. Fresh, unusual without being over done or complicated. Must do for anyone who wants a memorable meal.

“Nice Atmosphere Phone restaurant for reservations bypass open table for this one!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

My husband and I had dinner at Simon Pearce. We were staying in Woodstock and made the nice drive to Quechee. The store is so nice to shop in while you wait for your reservation. We actually did not have a wait. I used Open Table for our reservation and it only gave me the option of 9:00 PM which I was happy to take( for a Saturday) however, we arrived around 8:45PM and there were a lot of empty tables that never filled so my advice would be to phone the restaurant directly for reservations. I had the Strip steak and my husband had the duck we were satisfied but we ordered the chocolate peanut butter whoopie pie. I thought it was the worst dessert I had ever had and I love dessert so it was bad for me not to like it. The waitress did not offer a substitute. I understand dining in a small town is different than dining in a large city but I would give Simon Pearce 3 stars out of 5 for the atmosphere.
