“Don't Go. There's nothing "Excellent" about it.”
Reviewed November 19, 2012

Just save your money and don't go to Firestones. We went for dinner and were really disappointed. Our food (chicken Marsala and chicken Parmesan) was cold and bland, respectively. The restaurant was "out" of various ingredients and seemed to be struggling with putting dishes together. I think this restaurant and it's sister one, Bentley's, should just stick to bar food and beer. Entrees are way out of their league.

“Food was good but not wonderful”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

We recently dined at the casual restaurant. We love pizza and rarely miss a chance to discover new " pizza dives " we were looking for something different so all four of us ordered the bacon Cesar salad pizza. The pizza was unique in that the pizza was delivered to us with the Cesar salad delivered in the center of the pizza. Unique it was, and quite tasty, although a bit greasier than I would have liked.

The service was fair. A situation occurred just before we received our bill. My wife accidentally reached behind the booth and in doing so her jacket came in contact with a fly paper pole that was laying on the window sill directly behind the booth. We could not get the stickiness out of her jacket, and we were offered no assistance from the waiter or manager. The jacket was ruined. The least that I would have expected was an offer of compensation, either in money or a free meal for her. Nothing was offered ,nor did we press the issue. How unfortunate that the lack of some kind of compensation risked losing a customer. That would have been considered common courtesy in my book.

“Good casual meal”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

After a long day of driving, pulling our RV and setting up in the rain, we were looking for a good hot meal in a casual restaurant, fairly close to our campground (KOA Quechee). The KOA owners recommended Fire Stones as one of their favorite places, and we weren't disappointed. The service was friendly and the food was quite good. I loved the BBQ chicken flatbread, and my husband loved the cedar-plank salmon... it was cooked on a real chuck of cedar, bark and all, instead of the slim little board that so many restaurants use. We'll go back again next time we're in the area.

“Nice but pricey.”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

The food was delicious but the hostess was, well, she made us feel like we were bothering her. She seemed frazzled when in fact it was not busy, she was rude to two ladies ordering take out, and we actually considered leaving when she made it a production to seat us when, as mentioned, it was not busy. But the food was delicious but I admit we found the wine very expensive. $10 for a glass of JLohr ? It is only $15 or $18 a bottle in the store. Not sure we will be back, but I would give it at try if you are looking for more than diner food in the area.

“nice casual meal”
Reviewed October 7, 2012

Your choices in this area for dinner are very limited with most being high priced high end places. Fire stones is a good casual place to eat if you are in the Quechee area. We had a few flatbreads (pizza's) a pasta dish, and a soup and salad. French onion soup was the only downer, very salty. Flatbreads were good as was pasta and salad. Service was a bit slow, comment was that they were short staffed that night, but was very friendly. Nice atmosphere with wood burning oven and lights outside
