“Short drive to Quechee Gorge, shops and restaurants.”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

PROS:
~Free WiFi.
~Complimentary bottled water in room.
~Clean.
~Cozy/antiquey decor.
~Wall-mount flat screen TV in room.
~Complimentary luxury toiletries, including make-up wet wipes.
~Picturesque grounds.
~Ample complimentary parking on the property.
~Breakfast buffet included in a nice breakfast room. (Good grainy bread!)
~They upgraded our room, which was a pleasant surprise.
~They accommodate weddings.
~Short drive to Quechee Gorge, shops and restaurants.

CONS:
~There was a bright light outside our bedroom window that was annoying when you're trying to sleep.
~Would have preferred a hair dryer in the room.
~No nightstand next to one side of the bed. (Where do I put my book/phone/alarm-clock/ear-plugs, etc.?)
~Breakfast was a little luke-warm, I had a dirty glass and people didn't know whether to take a seat or wait for a hostess when they entered the breakfast room. (ie. only one waitress who couldn't do it all).
~There was a wedding on the night we were there, so we couldn't eat on the property, which we were kind of looking forward to.
~Service was just 'OK'. Could have been warmer/friendlier/more jovial.

This was an old house which had been converted to an inn. The photos all showed wide-planked wood floors and spacious rooms. Our room was OK size, but the bath was small, and there was old carpet on the floor.

On the positive side, the restaurant was wonderful.

The room was clean, and the public rooms were old and interesting.
There was a darling resident (outside) cat that made me miss my Gussie.

We have been coming to Vermont and staying at the Quechee Inn at Marshland Farms for over 10 years and enjoy it as much today as we did the first time. The Inn exudes warmth and charm as soon as you step foot in the door. The Inn personnel are always friendly and helpful. The lounge (sitting area) is cozy with its fireplace and relaxing atmosphere. The bartender Tom is a very friendly person and an asset to the inn. We also had a wonderful dining experience the first evening that we were there at the inn - their food is always varied, exceptional and plentiful. Our deluxe suite was very charming with the wood floors and beautiful quilts on the bed. We also enjoyed having the buffet breakfast each morning prior to our 'touring' for the day. There are lovely walking paths nearby, waterfalls, and charming back roads to explore. We always look forward to coming back to the Inn in the Fall, enjoying both the Inn, the quaintness, and the staff and getting away from the hustle and bustle of NJ.

Room Tip: We've had several different rooms throughout the Inn, however, we prefer a room on the second fl...

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Quechee Inn a few months ago. The property was beautiful, the atmoshphere of the inn was cozy, service was outstanding and the menu offered an array of choices that all looked wonderful. Each appetizer, main course and dessert we chose was excellent. We were very pleased with our dining experience and will certainly return again when we are back in Quechee.

Old fashioned inn in a lovely country setting. Warm greeting--reservation had not come through from Expedia and we were upgraded to a suite--very large, comfortable (somewhat dated) rooms. Large and comfortable common siting area great for relaxing. Helpful staff. Excellent bar. Food is over rated. Had slow roasted duck--very tender and very fat. The fat had not been rendered, some of the skin was burned, and generally not very crisp. Vegetables were undercooked. Buffet breakfast was ample but unexceptional.

My friend had accidentally found Quechee Inn a few years ago when he got lost on the roads there late at night while trying to find his daughter's ski chalet. He was hungry and upon discovering Quechee was open for dining, enjoyed a wonderful meal that he never forgot.
When we were planning our trip to the NE, he asked that I look at Quechee for reservations. We stepped inside and loved the charming ambiance with antiques that engulfed us in comfortable warmth. The dinner we had as part of our two-night package was delicious and in the gourmet category and so much more than we could eat. The staff was friendly and accommodating from Ken the bartender to the breakfast and dinner staff to the front desk personnel. It is so laid back there and a great place to unwind without too many people coming and going. Great places to hike nearby plus it is not far from Woodstock...and there is a lovely spa just down the road from the Quechee called Stone House Spa. We loved our 3 nights at Quechee Inn and would love to return one day.

Room Tip: Our air conditioner was a little noisy the first night and luckily, because the weather was cooler t...

We just completed a New England vacation and one of our stays was the Quechee Inn. It was wonderful! We were upgraded to a large room with a king bed and two bathrooms. It was so nice that we changed our plans to leave the next day and stayed an extra night. Only small complaints were the air conditioning a bit loud and would have liked a ceiling fan in the room.
The breakfast was a buffet style with plenty of choices. The area is beautiful with many things to do.
Will stay again in a heart beat.

Room Tip: Always take steps into account when booking B&B's there can be many and steep.
