We were at the Inn during snow and cold - fire was always roaring in the great room, staff welcoming and pleasant. Our room was very cozy and breakfast was fine. Breakfast servers were friendly. We did not utilize the restaurant. This is a great place to go to unwind and get away from the normal hotels and inns.

My room was immaculate and cozy with cheerful quilts on the beds. The staff were more than pleasant and welcoming- the grand room was gorgeous with twinkle lights enveloping the exposed beams and the crackling roaring fire was wonderful. Enjoyed glass of wine and cheese fruit platter in front of the fire-The server was first class! Next, dinner was elegant and relaxed at the same time- Pork tenderloin is my go-to comfort meal which has never disappointed.
Breakfast next morning was individually prepared- eggs the color of eggs and not washed out supermarket brand- just delicious-fruit, coffee, juice, and crispy bacon-
If you like Inns vs. hotels- this is your place filled with charm-close to Sugarbush Farm and downtown Woodstock-
As a business traveler, the only improvement that I would recommend is to position plugs to work for electronics- I had to sacrifice lighting for charging computer and cell phone- but charm, comfort and security as a single traveler far outweighed that inconvenience.

Coming from the west coast, we found Quechee Inn lovely... a perfect autumn weekend in VT! Our room was cozy and authentic (in original section of farmhouse) and our hosts were welcoming and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The restaurant was not our favorite, but breakfast was fine.

Classic New England Inn, very cosy. Helpful and welcoming staff. Rooms were good size and well appointed.Breakfast buffet fine, but nothing special. Only disadvantage I could see was the hotel being set back only a little way from a busy road- thus some traffic noise. Would recommend to others.

We are returning guests and again we had the utmost wonderful stay last weekend. The inn is one of our most favorite places to visit when we have the opportunity to go away. We especially enjoy the restaurant. We never go anywhere else for dinner because everything we try on the menu is so delicious. We have visited the inn during differnet seasons and enjoy that the menu reflects the seasons and there is always something new to try.

We like to stay in a different room every time we stay at the inn. We like that every room is different and I think there are only a few we haven't had the opportunity to stay in. We always commend the housekeeping staff because our room is always so clean and fresh. We love the historic feel of the inn.

As always, the staff are so welcoming and pleasant. We look forward to seeing the same faces throughout the inn and catching up with them. Keep what you're doing because it's our favorite inn.

QInkeeper, General Manager at Quechee Inn At Marshland Farm, responded to this reviewResponded November 7, 2012

As the Innkeeper of the Inn I find that I must reply to this absolutely unjust review. I can assure anyone reading this that we positively do not have bed bugs at the Inn. The guest who wrote this was traveling throughout the area from Canada, and it is certainly possible that somewhere she stayed may have had bedbugs, but it definitely wasn’t here. I personally took a training session with our extermination company to learn both how to prevent bedbugs and also how to detect them. We thoroughly inspected both rooms this guest stayed in, and there are no traces whatsoever that there are bedbugs. We use both pillow protectors and mattress covers that repel bedbugs, and our housekeeping staff is trained to look for signs of bedbugs each time they clean a guest room.

The guest came to the front desk after their first night of a two night stay and indicated that she had allergies and she found the room she was in to be musty. We immediately relocated her to another room, one of our suites, which is the nicest and most spacious room at the inn.

I tried to contact this guest to discuss this review but was unable to reach her based on the telephone number we had on file. I will be writing her a letter to follow up with her.
I was here when these guests checked out and they made no mention of the bug bites they supposedly received here either to me or the clerk who actually checked them out. I was also the manager on duty the night they dined here and there was never any mention made regarding a plate falling in her husband’s lap. This would certainly have been brought to my attention by a member of our team or the guest themselves.

It is truly distressing that someone would choose such a public forum to make such a horrible accusation without ever addressing the situation with us directly. Furthermore, to post the review weeks after they stayed here and never mention anything about their dining experience or the claim of being bitten by bed bugs is very disheartening. We take great pride in exceeding our guest’s expectations. The fact that they and the couple they were travelling with seemed to be really enjoying themselves, spending time drinking wine in the Common Room, dining, and eating breakfast each morning makes this even more difficult to understand.

As always, I would ask that any guest who has any issue, whether with dining, guest rooms or anything else regarding their stay here please bring it to our attention in real time, while they are here, so that we have the opportunity to correct the situation.

The staff are the best... Friendly, great service, and went on the Hearth & Harvest package. The food at dinner was terrific, Chef Ed knows how to create. Pete and Tom are fun at the bar and Lindi was a fun very good waitress and lots good energy. Breakfast (included along with a dinner) was good and AM people were good. The only thing is that the place needs a good cleaning and a facelift. Our bathroom had caulking over paint over caulking etc. we always return.

QInkeeper, General Manager at Quechee Inn At Marshland Farm, responded to this reviewResponded October 27, 2012

I would like to thank this guest for a very positive review. The Hearth & Harvest Package is a great way to enjoy all the Dining room has to offer, as these folks clearly did. I am very proud of the Staff here, they are all committed to providing our guests with a genuine warm Vermont experience. I have shared this review with all the Staff mentioned.
Regarding the comment on the bathroom, we are actively renovating bathrooms throughout the Inn as time permits. Now that the fall foliage season is over, we will be starting this project back up again. In an old Inn such as this, we are constantly working on making improvements while maintaining our historic appeal.

We look forward to this guests next visit!
