“Too hyped up..”
Reviewed January 6, 2012

Fancy place but food is nothing extraordinarily special for all the hype some people give this restaurant. OK portions. Nice staff. Great view of the waterfall if you sit by the window. They won't point you to that side of the room though, you have to ask to be seated there (or maybe we just weren't lucky with our host).

Shop before or after your meal, the SP store is in the same building/ level. They were hit bad by the hurricane that the glass blowing facility in the basement is currently under renovation, so no field trips at this point.

If you love pottery and glass kitchen knick knacks, they have tons of seconds for "bargain" prices. I thought they were still expensive.

“Pricey, but beautiful.”
Reviewed January 4, 2012

The shop is amazing, so many beautiful things to look at, but even in the clearance room, items are way beyond my budget. But, if you are going through town, it is worth checking out - especially to watch the glassblowing downstairs. These are true craftspeople.

“Great place to see making of glassware”
Reviewed November 12, 2011

Visit Simon Pearce to see great artistic glassware and watch the making of glassware. The technicians making the items are so helpful with any questions you have while watching him make vases, bowls etc.

We had a great meal in this elegant yet rustic resturant and enjoyed dreaming about having some of the glassware.

“Fascinating combination attraction - craftsmen at work and quality gift shopping!”
Reviewed October 27, 2011

The beauty of the glass is paralleled by the fascination of watching the glass-blowers at work. We visited the glassworks in Winsor, because the Queechee Mill was under repair following Vermont's historic rain damage. This modern facility includes an alcove showing a video history, a well-appointed retail shop, complete with a 'seconds' section. The glasswork's observation areas make visitors feel welcome to ask the glass-blowers about their work. Great addition to a "leaf-peeper' trip or just for a day trip itself. Also there is a pub across the drive.
