If your'e in the area you have to stop and see this Gorge. Especially in the fall peak colors. Nice hike to the bottom of the gorge and you can also go the other way and see the dam. Right in the area with the park and the visitor center.

This scenic wonder is one of the best in the East. It is the perfect place for a picnic lunch and an easy walk to the bridge. The fall colors just add to the overall experience.

Few things interest my 15 yr. old son enough to look up from his 3DS, never mind actually step out of the car. The gorge was one one of those attractions that made him put the game down and walk! Standing on the bridge looking down into the gorge is exhilarating. Great opportunity to stretch your legs and walk the dog down one of the two paths. They also have gold panning for younger children and a lovely gift shop. In addition, there is a small, but super cool toy museum about 1 mile before you get to the gorge. Definitely worth a stop.

Worth walking the full length of the trail (which is not that long) to get a lovely variety of scenery from gorge to open lake. A fairly level easy walk.

This is a beautiful gorge and well worth a stop. It can be viewed from the bridge, but a walk down the .4 mile path is lovely and not difficult. On the other side is a .3 mile walk to the dam. Both were absolutely beautiful as we were there for the fall leaves. It's a very popular attraction and traffic crawls through because people are crossing the road at all times!
A must see.
