“Great tourist stop”
Reviewed February 27, 2013

the gorge is most impressive from the bridge. A whopping 165 feet down to the river. There is a nice half mile maintained trail down to the bottom of the gorge where there is a lot of washed carved bedrock to sunbath on. There is NO trail in the mile long gorge under the bridge. Caution: watch for rising water from an up stream dam release.

“GORGEOUS!!!!!!”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

Knowing first hand how beautiful the natural "mini grand canyon" is right here in Vermont we would recommend hiking the trail to the bottom on a hot day and taking a dip in the refreshing clear water. There's nearby hotels and Woodstock is less than 15 minutes away. If your looking for a unique gift, or hilarious shirt make sure to stop at Quechee Gorge Gifts and Sportswear right next to the Gorge!! The snack bar has the BEST hand cut fries anyone could ask for!!! If the kids are looking for something to do they can "mine" for gemstones and fossils at Quechee Gorge Gift Shops mining co.

“Scenic view, wacky attractions”
Reviewed December 16, 2012

I loved this place! The gorge is beautiful and a great place to hike and visit. Also there is a huge tourist complex here with Cabot cheese shop, massive antique mall, toy museum, etc. Lots to see. The antique mall has unique stuff at great prices. The toy museum was excellent and odd--squeezed in amongst the mall with wonderfully curated vitrines of toys by era and style. There is a model railroad in the low-ceiling basement. A wacky wonderful place!
