The fact that this is the President Coolidge Historic site was what drew us to this charming spot, but what they have here is a real jewel. The presidential information is great and I gained even more respect for the man. The best and most amazing part was the condition of the town. It was as if time had stopped in the early 20th century. I got a feel for what life was like then in a small Vermont town.

Not many Presidents are from Vermont, but this one is and truly is a small town hero. Make it a point to stop and visit this charming tiny town where this great American grew up and also was sworn in as President by his Dad and eventually was burined here! Worth the stop.

This is a must see thing to do if you come to Vermont, it is a small village but with big history of Vermont. The little buildings have alot to show about Ol' silent Cal. I remember a story when Coolidge was in office and at a dinner party, 2 ladies had made a bet, one saying she could get him to say more than 2 words, they had the chance to talk to Coolidge and told him about their bet, he reply was just "you lose". I use to live just about a half an hours drive from Plymouth Vermont where Coolidge was from and always remembered class trips, and my favorite part was the house he grew up in and also the cheese factory just up the road from his home.
