We spent a 3 day weekend at the Inn at Weathersfield and loved every minute. We stayed in a queen suite, which had a queen bed and a separate sitting room. The restaurant is outstanding (of course - the head chef has won awards and has been featured on tv). A nice little library, "tavern" and outdoor deck make for comfortable spaces to relax and talk. We will definitely stay at this inn again.

Just a few things to bear in mind: first, not all the rooms have a spacious tub in the bathroom; some have just a shower stall. If this is an issue for you be sure to ask ahead of time. Second, you should make reservations for the restaurant ahead of time. It is really an exquisite dining experience so don't miss it because you forgot to reserve a table!

Check their website for information about the inn and local attractions. The owners are very friendly and know all about the surrounding area; they can suggest great activities nearby. The innkeepers have created a beautiful, peaceful retreat with five-star dining that adds up to a wonderful stay.

The title pretty much sums up our stays at the Inn at Weathersfield. We've been staying at the Inn since Dave and Jane took it over and haven't gone anywhere since. They have done an outstanding job bringing the Inn to the level it is at now. All of the rooms are nicely appointed and very comfortable. Dave and Jane know the region well and are always there to offer suggestions for day trips. The fire pit is a great way to end the evening. Watch the flames flicker while enjoying a glass of wine, roasting marshmallows, and enjoying good conversation with other guests of the Inn.
The restaurant has one of the best chefs in New England in Jason Tostrup. He's trained under some of the best and it shows. Having dined at a lot of the better restaurants in NYC, we can safely say that we would put his cooking up against any one of them. The wine list is exceptional. Jane does a great job in matching wines to your meal. Do yourself a favor and have some friends stay at the Inn with you and arrange for a dinner at The Chef's Table in the wine cellar (6 people minimum). The experience will be unforgettable.
Just to add one more thing. In reading the other reviews, we can't help but comment on the one from this past February 25th. Either these people reviewed the wrong Inn, or they have no idea what good food really is. Jason an inexperienced chef? Not a chance. He's one of the best. Jason searches for the best local produce he can find. He picks his meats out himself and tells the farmers how he wants them finished. You can't get any better, fresher ingredients then what you get here.

My wife(Karen) and I have stayed at the Inn at Weathersfield ever since the new innkeepers Dave and Jane ( and Lucy, the dog) took over. The rooms are all well appointed and comfortable. The dining is exceptional, thanks to the innovative chef , Jason ( prestigious SANTEE awardee ) . Wine list is impressive and not overpriced. But it is the atmosphere provided by the innkeepers that sets this inn apart in Vermont. Try the Upper Falls Room; it is our favorite (TV, DVD,Jacuzzi, sitting room). Each visit seems to be better than the last. Try it...you'll LOVE it.

I stayed at the Inn at Weathersfield this past weekend and had nothing but wonderful experiences.
I could go on and on and on but I'll keep it short and sweet.
The inn was adorable. The rooms clean and true to picture. The bed was very comfortable. The food was devine...as well as the drinks. The owners were very pleasant and the waitstaff very helpful. Lucy was a joy.
Not only would I recommend this to others I also can't wait to return for another visit.
Thanks so much for a wonderful experience on my engagment weekend!

The inn itself is very lovely and cozy, with all the old world charm of a Vermont country inn. Our room was small but very nice, except for a few little oddities, as if it hadn't been quite finished in time for guests. These included carpenter's chalk lines on the ceiling woodwork and areas in the bath that seemed half-done. Which is great if you aren't paying a good amount of money. For the cost, it seems details such as this would be seen to.
The big disappointment was the food. I am surprised at all the great reviews. It seemed like an inexperienced chef trying very hard to be unique and what must have been with a French flair. Nearly everything we ate in our evening meal seemed to contain banana, which did not come off well in the first dish, or the second, or the third...
As for the breakfast, it was very sad. I wished I hadn't payed for it, so that I would have felt better about going out for breakfast.
This was a New Year's splurge for us, and it fell far short of our expectations. The owners really need to offer a higher quality of breakfast, with more selection, or just do a couple of things really well. Breakfast is a cheap meal and should be a big part of why you choose a bed and breakfast. Not for cold cereal or scrambled eggs that seem like they are from a mix. Forget other kinds of eggs, or anything creative or enticing. This is a bare bones meal. But the coffee was great.

We read this review with some confusion. The New Years Eve Gala menu had sturgeon and caviar, crab and scallops, local pheasant, black truffle pasta and local beef. There were no bananas in any of the courses. Regarding breakfast, the eggs we use for breakfast are extremely fresh from local farms and are a very bright yellow - in fact the eggs are never more than 3 days old from the farm. The color of the eggs even varies with the season! Cold cereal is offered as a courtesy to guests who request it and our breakfast menu includes several hot entree selections for guests to choose. And the coffee is great - from Jim's Organic.

We travelled from Boston to Weathersfield which took c2.5hours and found a little piece of heaven.
The Inn has an old worldly charm about it.
The floors creak, the rooms have remote controlled gas fires, the food is amazing (I eaten in michelin starred restaurants at three times the price that don't come close to the quality of food here) and the staff and owners are the most friendly you could ever meet.
From the Inn you can travel throughout Vermont and the owners will help you with ideas for trips. You are also within day trip distance of New Hampshire.
We were there for the fall and everything you have heard is true.
Stay here I guarantee you won't regret it.

Our fifth trip to the Inn at Weathersfield and it just keeps getting better...the rooms are cozy and comfortable and the restaurant is awesome! We particularly enjoyed roasting marshmallows at night under the crisp Vermont sky out on the new deck fireplace. The entire staff is friendly and customer focused. The Inn continues to offer us a peaceful escape from our hectic daily life. We can't wait to return!
