“Fabulous all the way around.”
Reviewed October 7, 2011

This is a wonderful restaurant. We were seated at a quiet out of the way table at a window. The service was excellent and the food was the best meal we remember ever being served. None of the courses disappointed. We shared the butternut squash soup, a muffin served on a bed of creamed onions, and a tossed salad. My husband ordered the chicken and I had the risotto with beets and goat cheese and hazel nuts. We were too stuffed for dessert. If we lived nearby we would be frequent guests.

“An old friend revisited and better than ever!”
Reviewed September 23, 2011

Everything was perfect. The reservation was honoured, our waiter john was charming, courteous, and competent, the menu was appealing and our food and service outstanding. While this restaurant is worth a very long detour of over an hour and many miles, in fact it is walking distance from our daughter's house. Not sure why, but we haven't been at the restaurant for a few years, so when our experience was excellent it was like visiting with an old friend.

“Seek it out, you'll be pleased”
Reviewed November 22, 2010

We plan our visits around dining here; T.A. reviews are mixed, but our experiences three times in three years of annual visits have been excellent. Last night was a superb white bean soup followed by cod for my wife and whole sea bass for me, a well chosen vermont cheese selection and house made sorbet. Good wine list, chosen with care.

Ambiance and service add to the pleasure of the food. We were seated in the dining room.

“Maybe an off night in the kitchen”
Reviewed June 14, 2010

On the evening we dined here, the only choice was a $75 prix fixe menu, alcohol not included. For appetizers, we had vichyssoise & country pate; both very good, but not outstanding. For entrees, we had medallions of beef tenderloin & fettucine. Again, very good, but nothing memorable. The dessert was a very dry chocolate cake with mint sorbet. The ambience is very nice, and the service very attentive.
I wouldn't go out of my way to dine here again. Simon Pearce Restaurant in nearby Queechee is far better.

“Is this place still there? If so, book a table”

We had a fantastic meal here. A bit drafty (it's in an old house) but fun ambiance. The chef was friendly and came out.
