“Beautiful country stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 18, 2012

We stayed one night on our way up to Quebec City. Arrived about an hour before sunset and were very glad glad we did! Mim pointed out how far up the hill their property goes and we immediately drove up to the top and enjoyed a bottle of wine on a rustic picnic table, under a graceful old tree, and with a gorgeous view of Lake Memphemagog. The colors at dusk were spectacular from this vantage point. Early the next morning at sunrise, before our delicious breakfast, we hiked up the hill and around a path that lead through their grove of sugar maples and a pond. What a way to start the day! We're not usually the B&B type, but this property changed our opinion. Bring your wine, hke up the hill and enjoy the stay!

My 80 year old mother, my 40 year old daughter and I all loved this B&B, the farm, the pond, the views, and the utter peace and quiet. It is my idea of heaven! We will definitely choose this B&B anytime we are lucky enough to be back in Vermont. We stayed 3 nights, ate 3 wonderful breakfasts cooked by Mim, who could be a chef, I believe. We had French toast one morning smothered in maple syrup, made there on the farm by Jacques and ended up buying lots more to take home with us. We can't rave enough about this place.

Room Tip: The Chocolate Room is large with two great beds, and sweeping views of both the front and back of th...

This was a delightful bed & breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay - the bed was comfortable, the breakfast very good, the owners were so friendly & helpful, and it is located in an absolutely gorgeous place across from a lake. I also loved the antiques and atmosphere. I would love to visit here again.

Cliff Haven Farm was definitely among our top B&B experiences. The area is gorgeous, the house is beautiful, clean, and comfortable, and Mim and Jacques are welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We had to switch rooms mid-stream because only a small room was available for the first couple of nights of our stay, but Mim made it as easy and comfortable as could be. The breakfasts were delicious, and the pond at the top of the property exceeded my expectations - it was pristine and wonderful to swim in. We would definitely go back the next time we plan to be in that area.

We stayed at the B&B for one night coming back from Canada. The place is amazing!!
Everything is so beautiful: the grounds, the house overlooking the lake and mountains.
The hosts are so very nice and made us feel right at home. Plus, the breakfast that Mim made for us was delicious.
I am reading the other reviews, and can easily sign my name under each very positive comment.
It's a lovely place to stay. We, my husband, my teenage son and myself, really wished we could have stayed longer.

Our family of four stayed here in late June, and I've been meaning to write a review since! We stayed only one night on our way to Quebec City and we wished we could have stayed longer. The setting is gorgeous- beautiful lake and mountain views in a nice quiet area. The property is amazing- beautiful grounds, and way up the hill in back, a great swimming pond. It was very clean and refreshing. The views were even more fantastic up here. It was so serene, and we had it to ourselves both times! We stayed in The Chocolate Room- it was awesome- very clean, beautiful antiques, and very spacious. It has a lovely balcony where I enjoyed my first cup of morning coffee. Jacques and Mim were so nice. We really enjoyed talking with them at breakfast (which was delicious ). We had to buy a couple of jugs of Jacques's homemade maple syrup-so yummy! Would love to stay here again, hopefully longer!

Room Tip: We peeked in 2 other rooms after the guests checked out, and they were very nice. We just loved The...

Walking up to the top of the hill and swimming in the clear pond on Mim and Jacque's property. Watching our 25 year old daughter climb a ladder into the old Maple tree. Enjoying the crisp and delicious French toast and Vermont sausage at a leisurely morning breakfast. Going out at midnight to view the stunning array of stars. Listening to the welcome "sound" of silence all around. Mim and Jacques were excellent hosts. As an ex-farmer, I loved hearing their stories of running the property as a dairy farm for years and then converting it to a B and B. Mim's sense of interior decoration and Jacque's skill as a craftsman had us admiring the way they have created a home. If you are visiting, the nearby city of Newport Center has a number of charming ( and good) restaurants, as well as an organic grocery and a bakery. Not to be missed if you enjoy Vermont as it was, and should remain.

Room Tip: All rooms are gorgeous. As others have said, it would be ideal for a family reunion.
