In a town like Newport, VT, where “hard to find is a common aspect in restaurants, Pomodoro’s Grill fits right in. When I asked the server what the address was she told me that the Post Office delivers their mail to 125 Main St. Now, this might be logical in that the “building” is on Main Street, it neglects the self-evident fact that a building has four sides. Two of them are on Central Street and Coventry. However, Pomodoro’s is on none of these. It nestles into the parking lot behind the building that links Central and Coventry.
This does not make it easy to find.
However, once through the air-lock/mud-room that’s a necessity in Vermont’s climate, I found myself in a nicely set-up bar and grill. It features several pool tables (free) and a band/dj area. The server told me that they hadn’t had live music in a while but they bring in a dj on weekends.
Dark wood and restrained lighting combine to provide a certain ambiance.
