“"The Perfect Spot"”

We were on a fall foliage visit to Vermont and Newport was our last stop for three days. Little Gnesta was warm and comfy, and our host, Ruth, was so helpful and friendly! She recommended some great places to eat in town plus many things to see in the area. We stayed on the main floor of the house towards the front. Location was on a quiet street and we slept very well at night. Breakfast was simple but delicious - meat, cheese, breads, granola, yogurt, oatmeal, and juice, tea, and coffee to drink. By the way, if you're a coffee drinker, Ruth's coffee is delicious! We would definitely recommend Little Gnesta, and we will definitely stay again if we are in Newport :-)

A two night getaway for us that exceeded our expectations. Little Gnesta offered an ambiance of quiet Scandinavian beauty, replete with a delicious breakfast and friendly conversation. Just the right balance of privacy and social warmth.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Little Gnesta because we love Swedish anything. We were not disappointed. I felt like I was in Stockholm but within an easy drive to location. Our host couldn't have been more pleasant. She has excellent taste in restaurants. We went to the restaurant she was eating at that same night and ordered the exact same dishes as she had because it sounded so marvelous. We had a wonderful sleep, breakfast, conversation and the water pressure in the shower is AWESOME!!! A+

When I saw the outlook of this house, I know that I love it. The house with European decoration which is I always want to live. The breakfast is awesome, ham, cheese, "fresh" apple which is picked few days ago, ..., Finally, Ruth is very friendly and kindly, and she also gave me some good ideas to explore Vermont. If my friends will travel in Vermont, I definitely will recommend this B&B.

What a gem of a find - in a sea of charmless motels or frilly B&B's, this B&B cuts through with a dash of real style. Set in the quiet town of Newport, just 6 miles from the Canadian border, Ruth offers a little slice of Scandanavian chic. Pale woods and cool blue tones throughout- staying here feels like you are sharing Ruth's home as a friend. From the outset, she is welcoming, interesting to chat to and goes that extra mile to ensure you have a memorable stay. Our room was huge, really well appointed with personal touches throughout. Breakfast was the best of our trip - homemade granola, Ruth's personal favourite cheeses, apples handpicked from a local orchard on a beautifully laid table. All was organic, locally sourced and utterly delicious. Good local recommendations for meals and activities. Terrific!

My husband and I got to Newport at the late evening, and could only find accommodation in expensive and not very inviting motels. We asked around for some B&B places, and one of the locals recommended Little Gnesta. We had no idea what to expect, but we're so happy we drove there. Ruth was really kind and hospitable, she showed us around and we had a very lovely and interesting conversation. The entire place has a charming decoration, and our room was so comfortable! Besides the beautiful decoration, the shower was sooo nice (with something like 5 different soaps to chose from!) and a selection of movies to watch. Breakfast was a real treat, and included some great granola Ruth made herself. We highly recommend that you do not miss the opportunity to stay there!

This is a great little place in a cute town. We stayed here while on a bike tour and due to weather we were shifting around arrival times, and they were fine with our early arrival, and with bike storage. Room was clean and comfortable and the town is definitely worth a stop - the food is great and the lake is beautiful.
