Thanks so much for the tip about the porch light. I'll be sure and keep it off when guests are sleeping. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you'll be back soon!

This is not your typical floral b&b. Ruth has done a great job with the design. It's quiet and comfortable, and right downtown Newport. Wifi access, the perfect breakfast, and the rooms are big, roomy and light. And it's a great adaptive reuse for a wonderful old house. Perfect for the young and hip...but great for everyone else, too!

Room Tip: Ask for the upstairs front room!

Ruth has done an amazing transformation of this house into the Swedish inspired home she envisioned. The decor has a clean, white, almost spartan feel, but fresh and appealing, particularly when the sun shines. The beds, soaps and linens are SUPER! The more memorable part of any trip for me are the new found relationships and Ruth is an easy friend to make. For a unique stay in a beautiful corner of Vermont, (I came for a charity bike event), try it.

I've stayed in a lot of B &B' s in both the US and Europe and this was, by far, one of the best. I loved the Scandanavian style of decor - so simple yet so elegant. It was cozy without being fussy. The beds are heavenly - like sleeping on clouds. The cheeses and breads for breakfast were yummy - very European. It was just a short walk to downtown Newport and Lake Memphremagog. The groomed ski trail around the lake was 5 minutes away and there were other trails a short car ride away. It was a great base from which to discover many interesting places by car - Stowe, Burlington, White Mts. of New Hampshire and only 2 hours away from Montreal. I would highly recommend!
