I go to the wayside about once or twice a month went in tonight and service was good but fries were undercooked and absorbed the oil due to low oil temperature. i would not of plated the fries the way they were. the cook should of done a new serving. Overall it is usally good food and great service.

We come here with children when we visit family in the area. Food can be really good but also not so good !! However staff is welcoming and friendly and seating is comfortable for families. Prices are very reasonable. They have been in business a zillion years and usually busy so we feel we can trust that they have good sanitary practices in their kitchen , which is important to our family. Check them out for a diner type meal.

Inexpensive restaurant that caters primarily to senior citizens. Atmosphere and service similar to what you would expect from a diner.

Stay way... was like eating a crappy school lunch . Potato flake mash potatoes and canned soggy veggies and everything. Gross!

This legendary restaurant has the best food for the best price just about anywhere we've ever been. This is the quintessential locally owned restaurant with a following that is multi-generational and devoted. As Boston fans are to the Red Sox so are Vermonters and travelers passing through to The Wayside. It's not fancy but it's the perfect antidote to the chain restaurant, you might even find fiddlehead ferns in the spring or fried perch during ice fishing season on the menu. They playfully co-opted the New Hampshire state slogan and made it "Live free or pie"! If you're visiting Central Vermont you've got to eat at The Wayside, everybody else does.
