Description: Birchgrove Baking is a cozy bakery located in Montpelier, Vermont. Every day, we prepare an assortment of breakfast pastries, scones, cookies, cakes, and tarts, all baked from scratch daily. We also offer house-made warm, fresh doughnuts on Sundays and, seasonally, our own ice cream pops, in addition to coffee and espresso drinks. Of course, we also offer wedding and birthday cakes and would be happy to work with you to plan the perfect cake for your event. Come by, grab a coffee and pastry and enjoy our quiet back deck overlooking the waterfall.

Wow, I'm a pastry snob and this place exceeded my expectations. We got a boxful of goodies to share with friends and everyone loved every thing, down to the last crumb. A highlight within the box were the cherry pecan white chocolate cookies.

I visit Birchgrove Baking at least a couple of times a week. The espresso drinks are the best coffee product in Montpelier. The staff is friendly, helpful and exited about the product. The baked goods are excellent, if you get there early enough the monkey bread is great. The savory scones and rolls area also excellent. While not the cheapest eats and coffee in town, it is well worth the price.

Very easy to find but in the downtown area.

Very good coffee and their pastries were out of this world. Tried the pumpkin pie and the ginger, pumpkin, molasses muffin and it was VERY good.

Worth finding! Go! You'll be glad you did!

Birchgrove Baking is a great shop located in Montpelier, VT - right off exit 8! From the moment you approach the shop, you feel welcomed - from the seasonal flowers in the flower boxes to the smallest touches -like the dog leash hooks out front (for those of us who stop by the shop when we have our pooches - sometimes you just can't resist the smell of fresh baked goods!)
Jennifer did our wedding cake and not only were we SO happy with the results, all of my guests were thrilled too! We chose German Chocolate Cake and another w/ Carrot Cake~mmmmmmmmmmmmmm! So good! And very farely priced as well!
The coffee is great too! When you step foot into the shop, you can just smell the fresh coffee brewing - not to mention the cinnamon buns, scones and fresh panini sandwich's (with local ingredients) if you come at lunch time.
Everything about this shop is great! I would definately recommend! I know you'll keep going back (since they always have different things). And lastly, check out the sample cakes on display. This is just a small sample of the great things they can do!!
