Description: If you don't live in Montpelier, Kismet is reason enough to plan a road trip! The chic, farm-to-table, community-oriented restaurant is Montpelier's first organic restaurant and offers up an inspired menu featuring fresh, local ingredients and meals crafted with love. Chef/owner Crystal Maderia creates seasonal craft cocktail and dinner menus that are sophisticated, creative, and complimented by her natural wine and artisan beer lists. All dishes are made naturally with local meats, organic produce, and sustainably harvested regional fish and seasonings from the restaurant's very own garden. It doesn't get any fresher than this! A great atmosphere, an inspired and nourishing menu, and a friendly staff make Kismet a local favorite.

“Bistro style”

This is a very sophisticated restaurant for Montpelier. A French bistro vibe....always crowded, a little noisy (but that's what makes it alive and fun) and always good food.

“Always unique, eclectic, yet satisfying like comfort food.”
Reviewed May 21, 2012

The combinations of tastes range from pretty simple to complex. A really interesting combination of menu choices and it's hard to choose. It's almost all organic and local (except the seafood). We are locals and we really like this place.

“Fantastic surprise”
Reviewed May 14, 2012

Maybe it's because we're from Rome and, therefore, rather used to an horrible touristic kind of cooking or maybe because we didn't have any place to eat in Montepelier... but Kismet was really a pleasant surprise. Run by young people, it offers an interesting cuisine, with really fresh ingredients and great presentation.
The restaurant itself maybe is a bit small, but cozy and a perfect place to spend an evening. It's been a year since we've been there and we're still talking about how good the food was!
