Best local restaurant around. Great service, good food all at a good value. A local favorite. Go for the homemade deserts

We came here on New Years Eve for dinner and ended up waiting about 2 hours for a table. We had a good time waiting at the bar and I like how they keep their daily specials on a big chalkboard when you walk in. This helped us figure out exactly what we wanted and we ordered immediately upon sitting down. Service was decent but unfortunately our food was not worth the wait. I'd probably go elsewhere next time we are visiting Jay Peak.

We take an annual ski trip to Jay and Belfry is part of the visit. Last year it was awesome. This year, not so much. I had the Filet and Scallop special. Scallops were good, but the filet, asked for medium rare, got well done. Should have sent back, but didn't.We were with a group of ten and didn't want to drag the mood down. Hope this was an exception.

Well, we wanted to try a new place and it was happening! Very busy as we had to wait for a table. I could not believe the limited space. Rustic for sure! We finally ordered and I must say Ww were not very pleased with the meals we had chosen. The fisherman platter was bland in taste, The Belfry steak with au poivre was not very good in taste as well the fries were under cooked. We started with a clam chowder soup and it was ok. I had 3 refills of cranberry juice which was great but we had to pay for the refills which was disappointing. We thought it was very loud and dark inside the resto.

A quaint and unassuming rural schoolhouse transformed into an iconic Pub and eatery with a quality menu of many standard dishes as well as numerous market fresh specials. We discovered this understated haven from the typical commercial resort environment over 20 years ago and have never been disappointed with its offerings or service. The antique bar is very well stocked and the clientele as hugely varied as the eclectic community in which it's located. And it seems as if the Belfry's customers are absorbed into that friendly community without effort. The food is great, and the quality wonderfully consistent. The locale is a favorite with the Apres-Ski crowd who add and supplement to the friendly environment. Many friends who we introduced the Belfry too have subsequently told us that the New York Times review echoed their own assessment of this establishment. If it's a busy day on the slopes, It will be a busy night, but the short wait for a table in these circumstances will be rewarded by the excellent food and environment.
